Times a great healer I suppose. No point dwelling on yesterday' match for to long. I definitely don't think we can take qualification for the knock out stages as a certainty but we'll see how the next two or three matches go, eh. Win them and we'll look in a much better position. The good thing is that Marseille or Porto will definitely drop points over the next two games but I wouldn't be surprised if our match with Porto in December comes down to a winner takes all scenario.

I cant be arsed going over last nights game again, we were ****e. The only plus point is I got paid to be there.

The sad thing about all this moaning to me is that if Man Utd werent so close to beating our records, part of me would want Rafa to **** off and us get someone like Pleat or Curbishley etc, make the moaners realise how ****e things could be.

That's a scary thought and it's names like that, that, make you realise how lucky we are to have Rafa in charge. I do wish he would stop rotatig quite as much. There's nothing wrong with a couple of changes here and there but 5 one match and 6 the next is to many in my opinion. Hopefully as the season progresses the rotation policy will calm down a bit, as it has in previous seasons.

I agree though last night's gone and there's no point dwelling on it to much but it's only natural that the debate on how bad certain players were and how Rafa got it wrong will continue until Sunday when we've got another match to focus on.

A win on Sunday will no doubt have everyone feeling positive again and we can go into the International break on a bit of a high.

            P.S.

I like Rafa and think he's the best man for the job but I do have concerns about how patient our new owners will be if we don't win something this year.

Thing is tho mate, even with the changes that team should be good enough to beat the teams we have played recently. For lesser games, I expect big changes, its gives them all a run out. Last night, to a man, we expected to beat Marsielle with whatever team we put out. Marseille were classed by everyone to be a lesser team. We wont see Leto thrown in against Utd etc but games we should be winning with our eyes closed we will.

That's a fair point and they have to be given matches at some point to see how they'll do but I would prefer if they played in matches once we've qualified. I would have liked to see Babel play last night intead of Leto though. It's gone now though so onwards and upwards. Sunday can't come soon enough.

The new owners warned the fans not to expect us to win the league straight away. So I don't think that will be a problem. I think they understand the situation and will be pragmatic about it.

I might be wrong but isnt Babel carrying some sort of injury? Failing that Id like to have seen him given a go but maybe Rafa kinda knows he isnt a winger but Leto is so opted to try him out, see if he can step up. If thats the case then its fair enough in my book and Leto was ****e and rightly taken off although I didnt see the point in that 5 minutes after half time. I think Leto probably bottled it but when his chance comes again, a few matches he should do better.

I hadn't heard that Babel was carrying a knock but then again Rafa never really moans about injuries like other managers so it's quite possible that's the case.

I must admit that I felt quite sorry for Leto last night. It can't be easy when you're trying to make an impression and you play like that. At the end up I think he would have been happy to be taken off. There were alot of frustrated fans round about me and the lad was getting slated. That can't do his confidence any good but as you say it might be positive for him in future because that's surely as bad a night as he'll have to suffer. Hopefully he gets a game against Cardiff and puts last night firmly behind him.

our problems have started since alonso and agger have gotten injured. the loss of agger in particular has hurt us badly as with him in the side we can play further up the pitch and pressurise the opponents play in their own half.

Sami has been a great servant to liverpool and no-one should criticise him for anything. we accept that his lack of pace and mobility has meant that benitez has had to play deeper to compensate for this issue.

Unfortunately, this means that our midfield are playing deeper and are not getting to the second balls that drop into the middle of the park. You have to win the second balls in midfield if you are to get a grip of the game and dominate posession. the stats against marseille show that we did not dominate the ball.

saying all of this I sincerely believe that benitez underestimated marseille before our game.
