I'm not going to apologise for the fact that LFC means a great deal to me, it always will be a big part of my life. That doesn't mean EST is the be all and end all, it just means LFC means a lot to me.
You seem to think you have more idea than anyone else about the game. Well, that's your opinion, but you are not qualified to go around saying someone else has no idea. All of our opinions are of the same value, that goes for you, me, Marky and everyone else and if you can't respect that then maybe you should log off for a few days.
Hey, I'm not disputing that. I'm not here to change the whole ****ing philosophy of the internet dispute, which we all know hasn't really changed in the past 10 years. It's always the same ****.
But it drags on, and I'm so ****ing sure, and I know it, that there's enough people out there who will take tonight's result personally, saying 'Rafa should've done this that and the other', and fair enough, a clever mind with hindsight might get it right, but at the end, no one's any smarter, as Hyypia said 'That's Rafa and he won't change'.
I fully agree and appreciate that people need their place to vent their anger and I would assume that an internet board is better than giving it large out on the street, but EST has become ****ing predictable and thus - for me - pretty ****ing boring.
Maybe it is best I log off for a few days, but put it this way, I log on pretty much all day and I seldomst post, because it's always the same ****, I'm actually so convinced it's always the same ****, I could put up a mathematical formula for the whole thing.
If we win: x + y = ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzz
If we draw: x + y - z = WTF
and if we lose: FUC KOFF WITH YOUR MATHS
It's so true, its the first game we've proper lost this season and it won't be the last.
I say, let the populus vent their anger, let the populus word their frustration, let the populus do what the **** they want, but when the winning times come back again, we all know who will be lauded beyond recognition... and that's Rafa.
End of.
By the way, I had been thinking about (knowing it would come up eventually, as it always does when we don't win by three goals to nil...who - realistically - could take over from Rafa now and do a better job, and I mean, A ****ING BETTER JOB, and I couldn't even THINK of a manager who has more footballing knowledge than Rafa - given any (and even the most outrageous) footballing scenario to deal with.)
So from that point of view, considering the ****e we've endured over the past what, 15 years?, I would never fault Rafa for the odd mistake he makes. Because at the end of the day NO ONE is more adept at getting (and has been getting) this club back into the vincinity of ultra-glory.
Just remember, Rafa is only in his mid-40s and he's a ****ing genius. Just imagine we didn't have him, just imagine that. He's set the bar so high with a lot of what he's done for the club. So...****ing...high.
Note to self:
Do not post when having had a few.

today. sissoko and crouch made marseille look like bloody brazil. yeah alright crouch is a decent footballer but not liverpool standard. there was one point in the game when he skinned to defenders, but he was running towards OUR goal. and momo... don't let me get started on him. i lost count of how many times he lost the ball in midfield. IMO i think mascherano should be in the middle with alonso and gerrard out wide on the right. note: he won PFA player of the year when he played out there.

Here's a predictable comment: I know it's not going to be a popular comment and will be blown out of all perspective, but Mourinho could rightly be talked about as a manager who could do a better job in terms of LEAGUE results.Originally posted by sean_lfc View PostBy the way, I had been thinking about (knowing it would come up eventually, as it always does when we don't win by three goals to nil...who - realistically - could take over from Rafa now and do a better job, and I mean, A ****ING BETTER JOB, and I couldn't even THINK of a manager who has more footballing knowledge than Rafa - given any (and even the most outrageous) footballing scenario to deal with.)
He's a bit of a ****, his teams play boring, cynical football but he's a manager who consistently gets results. You can't argue with his league record.
I'm not suggesting replacing Rafa with Mourinho, although I know it will be portrayed as such. Just putting his name out there.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

Watching Momo tonight , for the first time in my life I felt I am better than a professional footballer at something - passing the ball 5-10 yards.
For 1/3600 of a sec I felt happy that I am better than a professional who is plying his trade at the highest level in his field.
Never got such a feeling while comparing myself with the top professionals in civil engineering, my area of work.
Thats my positive from this match.

Please dont take my quotes made in the next 2 hours at face value mate. I am choking with rage from that performance. I am flipping from Momo bashing mode to Stevie G bashing mode to Sami bashing mode every 2 minutes.Originally posted by 5aq1b View PostBit harsh towards Momo, the whole team were ****e. ****in abysmal

and that can actually be a problem. Every player can't be perfect. Every player can't play in many different positions. I think Rafa overrates some of our players and tries to play them in a system they just isn't capable of.He's set the bar so high with a lot of what he's done for the club. So...****ing...high.
I would say that Rafa is trying to build the perfect team, a team in which players can switch positions a lot in the games with a quick passing game.
We simply don't have the players to do that.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Is it not the same posters posting the same stuff that you are on about being predictable because at the end of the day you will READ the same stuff on here post match, that you will HEAR in any workplace, pub, school, street etc.
It's about people voicing opinions and that will always happen whether we win lose or draw.

How do you know that? How do you know he would get the same results he did with Chelsea (and a quarter of a billion pounds sterling to go with that) as he 'might' have done with Liverpool? You don't know that. That's the honest answer. Because it hasn't happened and it could have easily gone a different direction (ie. he wouldn't have got his second European Cup 2005 in Istanbul, he might've just sat at the semi-final press conference saying 'Well, we didn't have good enough squad. I blame <enter random bollocks here>')
Never a truer word spoken.Originally posted by Darth Marty View Postbollocks to it, i love Rafa, equally part of me thinks moureen would do a better job.
Ask me after we stuff spurs and you will prob get a different answer but hey, football, like me, is fickle
I think you are right, to an extent. I think the players are capable, they just don't seem to produce the goods 100% all the time, which says more about human frailty than it does about Rafa.Originally posted by AFII View Postand that can actually be a problem. Fully agree mate. However it doesn't mean because the majority think that way (taking into consideration standard-Bobs being influenced by the media, press reports, journos, etc.), that they're right and Rafa (who is actually ****ing dealing with it) is wrong.Originally posted by Shanks007 View PostIs it not the same posters posting the same stuff that you are on about being predictable because at the end of the day you will READ the same stuff on here post match, that you will HEAR in any workplace, pub, school, street etc.

Absolute **** of a game ... Marseille deserved their victory, we were rubbish ...
Why the hell does it take an opposition goal to wake up our players at ANFIELD on a Champions League night for ****s sake ??
One of the major problems was there was absolutely NO tempo to our game. Gerrard cannot play alongside a player like Momo as he is forced into covering for him the majority of the game. He needs to be alongside either Alonso or Mascherano, preferably Alonso as he does not have to worry about starting attacks or setting a tempo for the team, he can leave that to Xabi. Stevie can concentrate what he is good at, bombing through the middle and scoring goals(although if all were fit, he would be on the right with Alonso and Masch in the middle) ....
Another major problem, and I know I am going to slated for this, is that we missed Kuyt. I agree with the majority of you when you talk about his first touch (although i don't think it's really that dramatic, many of his first touches are sublime). The thing about Kuyt though, is that he drives the team on like no other player in the squad. His work rate as we all know is phenomenal, but that workrate coupled with his constant barking of directions around the park, drives the team to work harder also. If they see him running for everything up front, the wingers will then usually pressure their fullbacks and the whole team pushes forward together with pressure. To me, and to the other players (IMO) he really shows a sense of pride in wearing the jersey. Something many of the other players fail to show ...
