i never believed in concepts like best players. you can only compare players of the exact same position otherwise it doesn't make any sense whatsoever imho. valueable or important fits the bill better i reckon.

Anybody questioning SG's value to us is watching a different player to me. He's still our best player and therefore our most important. In games when we need a goal, the team inevitably looks to SG and he often delivers. True his form is not at its very best but he's still top notch and any chance of us winning the title depends to a large extent on how well he plays.

When Gerrard is on form there is nobody to touch him in the world. But the reality is he is not superhuman and cannot perform like that week in, week out and it has also shown when he is absent that we can do without him and often perform better as a team. Therefore I would say our most imprtant player is agger as the team plays completely differnt without him, but then again......i shudder to think what would happen if reina was out.

My mate used to cuss him every game when he played full back, just couldnt see why we had him. to be fair I think it was justafter Babbel became ill and Carra didnt have an expansive game as babbel did and looked a bit awkward. but since 2004 my mate wont have a word said against JC!
