He looked the part on his home debut, when he came on and was chasing everything looked sharp and nearly scored..I don't know his best position, i could see him being more useful in a formation where we have Babel upfront with Torres (pace, power..) and try and find a position just behind them, as a link up player between midfield and attack.. but then you'd have to take a midfielder out of the equation and with the likes of alonso, gerrard, mascherano, kewell, pennant, lucas, sissoko you would have to take your pick of three from them.

Oh no. Clever is the polar opposite of what he is. I agree, he is slow and not prolific whatsoever. For a built fella, he can't hold the ball.

I don't think he has many, if any, fans left. Not the lads fault, he should never have been signed. Also, he's given me the motivation to get my boots back on so fairplay to him for that.

Agreed. Kuyt needs to be replaced. It's awful that we have a player with so poor technique playing in the most important position in attack.

I'd agree with that - he looked like an LFC played, but he's not delivering.

Wouldnt make much difference. Like Kuyt, he has good footballing brain but his technique is not that good either. Decent player but not good enough.

Personally I think his technique is far better than Kuyt.

It is. But Keane is not the player we need. We need player who can improve our attacking with his own contribution. Like Torres did. Is Keane that kind of player? I don't think so.

you wont see a bigger supporter of dirk kuyt than me on these pages. i've spent the best part of this season defending him and telling people to back him and see what happens in the new year. but after his performance today, i've got to say......the man played ****ing pish and we should get some money for him in january rather than have his stock get any lower and risk getting 2-3 million for him in the summer.

he joins the list of players who MUST go in january:

                    kuyt
                    riise
                    sissoko
                    carson
                    crouch
                    aurelio

some players there crouch-aurelio are on the list due to them not being good enough long term for lfc
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

mmmmm, its tough seeing a player who gives his all and so obviously loves the club not making the grade.
Hes a top fella and id keep him as 4th choice ahead of voronin but i doubt he would be up for that.

Back in the day did they not put players who had lost their touch in the reserves so that they could refind their form and confidence? Wacky suggestion I know but that may well be the best option for D.K

add pennant and voronin on that list.

I see where you're coming from, in that case say 'Bonjour' to Monsieur Anelka.

I don't think Anelka would be an answer either. He's too similar with Torres. We need someone with top class game intelligence, passing ability and technique in that role. Samir Nasri might be that player. I belive, he will be a playmaker in one of the european giants in the near future and it would be great, if it would be Liverpool.

So do you want a striker or playmaker? Make your mind up.

*waits for AFII to mention Aguerro

Not difficult is it? Kuyt's technique is on a par with Traore.
