I made a point earlier in the thread about the number of times in a game he causes the opposition to give possession back to us by putting them under CONSTANT pressure, and was laughed at by some, most surprisingly by certain posters who are clearly knowledgeable when it comes to the game. I find it unbelieveable that people can't see the importance of that. He's almost like an advanced Masher, albeit without as much class.

For a player who has proven to be such a prolific goalscorer (yes, I know it was the Dutch league :yawn and who is now having to adapt to a role that doesn't allow him anywhere near as much goalscoring opportunity must be quite difficult, but by God he's giving it his best ****ing shot.

For these reasons, it turns my stomach to listen to the ****e spouted about him on forums such as these.
its called oppinions mate, we all have them, if because everyone doesnt agree with you it turns your stomach then i would only look at kuyt appretiation threads from now on

Agreed. Imagine the damage that Rooney or Tevez (both "hole" players and not out-and-out strikers) would do playing off Torres....? Problem is, they don't necessarily have Rafa's defensive ethic - an ethic which has seen off Chelsea in two Champions League semi-finals, but won't work regularly in the PL. Anyway, I have an offer to make est1892: I am, by trade, a geneticist. If you want, I could clone Torres so that he can play with himself (pardon the expression). Reproductive cloning is illegal in the UK, but probably not in Guatemala. So, if est1892 members pay money into my Swiss bank account I can establish a lab in Guatemala and get on with the job! Sound OK? Sound familiar?

I suspect Rafa would love Rooney. Who does get stuck in and make it hard for the opposition to get out of defense when he drops deep.

I was thinking the same thing. That sort of player is what we need. Hard working , skillful and the ability to score goals. He is a massive part of the Scum team- they have lost all their games so far this season when he wasn't in the side so he does make a difference to the side.

              Even if Kuyt scores 10..........

He's not good enough or ever will be.2nd rate striker at best to play for a premiership mid table team.

I have given him enough benifits of the doubt FFS.Kuyt or huntelaar.......errrrr!No brainer really.

My signature for ages was the fact that Kuyt's just not good enough and that Huntelaar will be the next superstar striker to come out of Holland.I removed it because i felt i should always be positive about our players.

But fcking el,this guy really is a fraudster, conning his way around the club i love, posing as a striker.Am i the only one to see it?

Fck me,spurs bought berbatov for similar money by a dutch manager.Thats saying something.

I know who i would rather have.

Behave. He's still our player and whether he is up to the task or not (I agree that he isn't btw) there is absolutely no cause to call him a fraudster and con man, especially considering the tireless effort he puts in.

PS the Berbatov is a poor example as we all know how keen Jol was on Kuyt.

I agree mate, he is extremely frustrating, I've long since lost patience with him, but he is still our player and he deserves more respect than your post above gives him. If Rafa is still our manager in the summer I expect him to do a lot of wheeling and dealing, with a few players going out and several coming in, and I'm sure Kuyt will be one of those on their way out.

the worrying thing is why he continually gets picked ahead of crouch who is a much better player imo. kuyt works hard, but he's got no touch, no finishing ability, can't pass...it's embarrassing watching him line up time and again for liverpool.

will probably be sorted this summer, he should be on his way out based on performances

His effort earns and deserves respect. The fact that he is not up to it means he'll be gone before too long anyway.
