Morientes got the same treatment in his full season here. Rafa persisted with him the whole season even when he was ****e and when it ended, Morientes was quickly out of the door. I don't think it means anything, maybe Rafa rates him and wants to give him the chance to redeem himself and regain his confidence before getting rid.

The few chances he DOES get, including sitters, he rarely puts away.Originally posted by Armchairkopite View PostHe gets no service whats so ever, his confidence is very low and the only way thats going to come back is with a couple of goals. He gets dragged out to the right every time because thats where the space is, give him a winger, a proper winger than judge him until than i don't see haw we can. Its not as if the guy misses loads of sitters.

That was telling. Also am I right in thinking that Leiva had a similar reaction when he played the ball throught to Kuyt in the second half which Kuyt missed? If even a junior player in the team is reacting that way then I think it shows he's lost the confidence of his teamates. I'm sure I've seen Gerrard react in a similar way to Kuyt in the past before. He's fallen a long way since the 2nd leg of the CL semi v Chelsea.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostDid anyone else see Hyppia's reaction when Kuyt made a pigs ear of that chance n the 1st half?? That said it all to me.
Personally I don't think he is as bad as his current form suggests, but regardless he is still not good enough for us and he needs to be moved on asap. I think Rafa has played him less since the nightmare Kuyt had v Blackburn, and I'm sure Rafa has come to the same conclusion that Kuyt is not the way forward. Any other decision by Rafa would have me seriously questioning his judgment.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

Yes, I think this is right to the extent that Rafa persisting with Kuyt is no indication that Rafa sees him as the way forward, I think it is more of the case that he is using all the players at his disposal. To me it doesnt necessarily suggest that Rafa wants to keep him and persist with him beyond the end of this season. I think Kuyt is played more bacause he is a decent foil for Torres, not for any other reason.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostMorientes got the same treatment in his full season here. He was more likely thinking, "useless ****e, at least hit the target!"Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostYep.
He was probably thinking: "I'd have scored that".
And let's face it, there was more chance of him scoring a chance like that.
For the record Sami definitely would have scored it

Take the only midfield player with a decent goal return and move him on the rightOriginally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostBolton at home, Gerrard plays a brilliant through ball to Torres who scores.
Playing Gerrard on the right won't make our forwards better. It'll make our team worse.

kuyts performance today was like waking up to get a bowl of cornflakes and finding out some greedy ****er ate them all and put the empty box back in the cupboard

It's amazing how low Kuyt has sunk. He looked really good when he made his debut for us last season. While he never had lightning pace, he contributed a great deal to the team's overall play, chipped in with a few goals, and looked like a very clever player, as his ideas when he had the ball were generally good, although at times lacking in execution.
This year, he's been awful. There's no question in my mind that he's gotten worse. I listened to the official site's commentary on today's game, and it seemed that every time Kuyt got the ball, it went straight to the opposition.
I have no confidence in the fellow whatsoever anymore. That sense of expectation I get when the ball goes to Torres...I get the opposite when it goes to Kuyt.

Gerrard on the right is a compromise. It always has been. More drastic measures are necessary, if you ask me.It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

I wonder what Dirk was saying when Sami came in for Agger initially and that crap run of form.Originally posted by anfieldanfield View PostAn astonishingly limited footballer in almost every way possible.
Sami's reaction to that missed chance said it all.
Thanks for all the running around Dirk, but we need better than you. Sell.
