Not a clear sitter imo, but a very good chance.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostOne on one with the keeper about 12 yards out constitutes a sitter in my book.
The way he dealt with it was depressing. He has no confidence.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

Either way, it was another undeniably abysmal showing.
Rest assured Shaggy it was outside the box - I remember it well, I nearly chucked the remote control at the telly!!!
Sitter it wasn't, but certainly he should have done a helluva lot better - at least force the keeper to make a save!!!

That's exactly it - it was the manner in which he missed the chance. Not saved, not an inch wide...Originally posted by tomasjj View PostNot a clear sitter imo, but a very good chance.

I wish him well, though. I think Rafa will deal with him in the same way he did Morientes. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I am certain Rafa will deal with him. The fact that Rafa keeps picking him is merely because he wants to utilise the full squad at his disposal, and keep all players fresh IMO, and is not an indication that he has any confidence that Kuyt is the way forward in the long term.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

At least Cisse hit the back of the net on a fairly regular basis though, which should be a basic for any £10m+ striker. But then he didn't do **** all running. Kuyt could run for Ethiopia but doesn't score **** all goals. Tbh I know which I'd rather have - goals are what wins matches.Originally posted by Dhavlos View PostMay be I'm remembering things wrong but he's not as bad as Cisse IMO. Not only was Cisse a bad player like Kuyt in terms of technique, touch etc, he also had a terrible attitude and work ethic, aside from the fact he was thick as pig ****, completely uncoachable and incapable of following instructions. In short, Cisse was a disgrace, a complete donkey. Plus he cost £5m more than Kuyt. A much worse buy IMO and I bet we'll take a bigger financial hit on Cisse than we do on Kuyt."the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

Did you see him in the last world cup Tom?Originally posted by Tom View PostKuyt doesn't score goals because he's played deep - almost if this is the right phrase - as a defensive forward/advanced midfielder. He's underrated by people on here, we miss his committment when he's not in the team. Personally I think he's the best partner for torres.
He was played up front for Holland, and missed alot of sitters, when I seen that, I was genuinely worried about the links with him. He is not a finisher of the relevant standard.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I don't like Cisse, I don't like Kuyt, not sure which is worse but it's clear to me there shouldn't be a place for either in our club or any other player either of their leagues.
The problem I ahve with Kuyt is that he's slow and that he NEVER looks like a goal threat, it's not just the lack of condidence it's the first touch, and his sluggishness. Sure he's running everywhere but he doesn't exactly look energetic. He's managed to piss me off especially in this second season. every time I see him he seems to annoy me more.

Like Cisse he has no composure in front of goal. I think that is what separates a good striker from a not so good striker.
Crouch doesn't have a great deal of composure either, but he has more than Kuyt at the moment. Baros was the same when he played for us, just head down, hit and hope.
The challenge for Rafa is to find a player with similar composure to Torres, Owen, Fowler, Rush etc etc..Originally posted by Gordon Brown

I was worried when I saw him at the world cup. I got absolutely shot down in flames for sayign it though. It was all "look at Henry at the world cup" type of comments.Originally posted by bazza76 View PostDid you see him in the last world cup Tom?
