No one is disputing Kuyt's work ethic is his best quality but if you or I played for LFC we'd bust our lungs working hard on the pitch too. It doesn't mean that we should be playing for LFC though. Good attitude and work ethic will only take you so far if not allayed with talent.

If people don't think players are performing to the required standard or have the requisite talent to wear the jersey then they are perfectly entitled to their thoughts on them leaving the club.

i dont debate the fact that he might not be good enough as i have already said and i personally wouldnt be playing him, thats not what i am talking about.

by all means, he could say "i think we should sell him, theres better out there", but slating and abusing him wont help the matter, if he was lazy and didnt try , it might be fair enough, but he isnt and rafa picks him so i cant see the point in mocking him

There's that "he tries so hard" kop out again. Just because he works hard doesn't make him good enough, does it? Christ on a bike if I got the chance to play for Liverpool I'd run until I collapsed.

What I will say is that he'll never get abuse from the crowd because of his workrate, which is the way it should be, just take Igor Biscan for example.

But as a footballer he's absolute ****. And because I'm not at the game right now I'm well within my right to say so.

Playing devils advocate here, i think what ronniedrew is saying has a valid point. It's not so much the fact that people accuse Kuyt of being not good enough but the level of personal abuse is way over the top. I would like to draw to people's attention the fact that Kuyt does an incredible amount of work for charity, he donates almost all of the money he earns from sponsorship deals to orphanages and projects for deprived children living in run down areas in Holland and elsewhere. He has lost his Father only a short time ago, who he was very close too, if people remember he delayed his move to English football when his Dad was first in Hospital. I feel that perhaps Dirk deserves to be cut some slack and certainly doesn't deserve to be called **** etc.

Football isn't an exact science, Kuyt looked good in Holland albeit it is a lower standard of football. He was decent last season, but has regressed badly this season, the concerns I had about his technique last season have been compounded this season.

And I'm afraid on current form he is "****". Seriously mate, do you think he played well against Luton then. He looked like a pub player playing against a third division side.

Of course he always gives 100% for the shirt, something which he'll never be criticized for, and rightly so, but that shouldn't exempt him if he performs poorly, as he has been doing.
