This Kuyt bashing is getting pathetic by the minute. My opinion is on best form, he probably deserves to be in our first 11. Nuff said.

He's our number 2 striker - does more for the team than Crouch - when his goals come the zombies on here will be worshiping him as the new messiah

perhaps you misunderstood my use of the term donkey - i use to to refer to describing him as a workhorse. which is what a donkey actually is.

in all honesty i was disappointed when we signed him. We all talked him up, i stood in thekop when he came on that first day when he came on as a sub. Whatever happened to the young lad who was shooting from all over the place, making runs, finding space. I thought I had been proven wrong.

But over the course of last season, he has been very poor. His attacking insticts have diasppeared, his positional sense has gone and whilst he never had the best first touch now it is really poor. You really could play him in Momo's position in some games, thats how much of a striker he's now become.

His only attribute seems to be that he works hard for the team, runs around a lot, closes people down - all attributes of a workhorse hence my use of the term donkey.

However, i still don't think he's good enough and would not shed one tear if he was sold. At best he needs to be benched because on current form he's costing us.

I do back my own, but this is a forum of fans and i feel here i can criticise as no-one will doubt that i want the best for our team. Its only natural for us to differ in our opinions. In public he's one of ours and is good as 90% of strikers out there. Saying that i do not belong to the rcdnw brigade. I was raised in the 70's and remember the team of the 80's as if it was only yesterday. Perhaps that football education has meant I have too high standards.

Maybe the lad will come good after xmas but he does need to be dropped for now.

people say kuyt works hard, so does my milkman and i would put him up front. if reina could kick the ball really well but couldnt save it would he still be the keeper? of course not. so why do we persist with a striker who cant score?
          in january we were doomed.

in august we will rise from the ashes of ****e and march on again

Do you not think that a lot of this could be down to the manager?
I personally think Rafa has played a huge role in the demise of Kuyt, and wouldn't bet against the guy being much more effective at another club.

fair play. i have thought that a lot but regardless of where rafa tells him to play adn what role he tells him to follow, i am pretty sure he doesnt tell him to boot the ****ing ball out of play when trying to control it

I'm not sure about Maestro's reasoning, personally.

Whenever Voronin has partnered Torres, he doesn’t waste time tearing around like a headless chicken in midfield. He’s “the 2nd striker”, but he operates in the right areas and offers an attacking threat.

So if Rafa tells to Kuyt to **** around everywhere but the opposition box, why doesn’t he tell Voronin to do the same? There’s been plenty of times when Kuyt has been played as a lone striker – surely Rafa hasn’t told ‘the lone striker’ to piss about on the wings, in the centre circle…anywhere but the box?

Kuyt, as far as I’m aware, has always dropped off and worked hard. His performances in the World Cup, albeit from predominantly the right hand side, were all pretty much identical to the sort of performances we’ve seen from him this season – i.e. ****, totally ineffective and cumbersome.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

:QUOTE=bigfooty;767031]It's worth remembering Crouch and Kuyt linked up to good effect last season, winning 12 of 15 games they started together. Crouch created a few goals for Kuyt with flicks or passes and Kuyt repaid that a couple of times. Not exactly the fastest front-line in the world but still reasonably effective.

In my view Kuyt can be a solid player if he's not asked to do things beyond him like play as a right / left winger, as an extra midfielder or up top on his own. Far too often last season alongside Bellamy and this season alongside Torres and Voronin he's ended up being everywhere but where it matters i.e. in the box sniffing around goal. The odd time he has he's popped up with a goal, like against Toulouse or away to Porto.[/QUOTE]

he isnt my cup o tea but some of the stick he gets here is usually reserved for opposition players and :whatever:

What? Surely you're not saying we've ruined a player? Never!

I just want to say that whilst I do not think Kuyt will become a great player at this club I have faith that he will come out of this current slump in form.

He has the main attributes required for getting out of this - hard work and honesty. For that he will always have my respect.

Therefore, whilst I believe he will regain his form he will never be the prolific striker and great player we all maybe expected him to be.
