I like Kuyt, he tries and I wont knock anyone he gives their all.

His all isnt enough right now. Id like to see him coming off the bench for a bit. He has tonnes of energy so mybe around the 60/70 minute mark for him might be to our advantage for a bit.

It's not a question of faith. I know what he can and can't do. I know what role he is best in, and what roles he is destined to be relatively poor in. He is a fairly limited player and being played in a role where he can't even give half of what he does have to offer. As a result every aspect of his game will continue to suffer. I blame Rafa primarily for his poor form.

The difference in quality between Kuyt and Crouch is minimal, but when Crouch comes on he goes up ****ing top, he plays where he ought to be, where he can play his natural game and pose a threat. When Kuyt plays he is stuck being a water carrier. It's so ****ing infuriating. To attack successfully you need to commit and take risks, I sometimes feel Rafa is too much of a control freak to allow that until the last 20 mins.

I have formed this opinion that Kuyt is all right foot. If it doesn't fall so he can strike hit hard with his right, he has no options.

Very industrious yes. He seems to be more suited to the second striker role, and thus benefits playing with a spearhead/focal point up front a la Torres/Crouch. Which is why I don't get Rafa playing him as a lone striker or with Voronin.

I worry that Rafa is too clever for his own good and over-complicates what is in fact a very simple game.

With Torres injured Crouch should be starting every game. Once Torres is fit play Torres/Crouch and see what happens.

I've been patient with Kuyt but he just doesn't have it. He's not a goalscorer and we need to start winning!

Shevchenko for £32m comes to mind....they also paid about £10m for Kalou who is distinctly average...and the tramp's outlay on Saha hasn't really paid off yet either. I know you think money buys you love DJS but not always
