Maureen targets Rafa's job - would you be tempted???

    Red Jose

    By Harry Pratt

Jose Mourinho is sensationally targeting Liverpool for his big comeback.

The former Chelsea boss has added the Reds to his shortlist of possible clubs to manage next following Rafa Benitez’s recent problems at Anfield.

At the time of his exit from Stamford Bridge in September, Mourinho insisted his next post would not be in England.

But that was before Benitez’s rotation policy cost Liverpool valuable ground in the Premier League, left their Champions League hopes on the brink and fans up in arms. Now Mourinho, who under his severance terms with Chelsea cannot work here until next June, believes succeeding Benitez could be his dream return ticket because: Liverpool have the financial power to compete with Europe’s elite

The Kop are so fed up with the club’s title drought they would welcome the Special One

It would make Roman Abramovich even more jealous of Liverpool!

A source close to the Portuguese coach said: “There’s no question Liverpool is a club Jose would like to manage.”

Only last week Mourinho emphasised his determination to hold out for one of Europe’s top jobs by rejecting Valencia, widley regarded as Spain’s third largest club.

There’s no question Liverpool is a club Jose would like to manage Source close to the Portuguese Coach

Yet, unless Real Madrid and Barcelona come calling next summer, which is unlikely, his options will be limited to either of Italy’s Milan clubs - or Liverpool.

News of Mourinho waiting in the wings is sure to rattle Kop boss Benitez who, apart from an intense dislike of the ex-Porto coach, is battling a full-blown crisis on Merseyside.

Failure to beat Besiktas at home on Tuesday will end Liverpool’s Champions League interest - and further undermine the Spaniard’s standing at the club.

And unless he was deliver the Premier League, Benitez could well pay the price for blowing £50million last summer - and leave the door open for Mourinho.

As much as i like Rafa and i know how ridiculous it is talking about replacements already but i'd be delighted if Maureen took over IF Rafa was to leave for whatever reason.

Whatever the pro's and cons of Maureen at Anfield - the one thing that is clear is that Rafa needs to change. And quick.

Couldn't get behind a tosser like him at Anfield - and I'm not going to get too upset with Rafa yet. Well, I'm trying...

Because of his style of play I don't think Jose can do much better than Rafa. He certainly wont get to spunk £50m no two players like he did with Essien and Drogba.

I would hate Jose here, absolutely hate it.

We would become a media circus, and not only that the football played would continue - I doubt he could wrestle the title from the other three either.

                      A source close to Mourinho?

Some ****ing idiot from the Daily Star we once brushed past Mourinho's ass perhaps.

"A source close to" is simply a way for these rags to sprout bull**** and get away with it.

Everyone saw at the start of this season and the end of last one how good Maureen is without a massive transfer budget.

He give his players orders to dive and cheat. That is the kind of manager he is. It's not one or two players doing it, the whole team do it, week in week out.

                        Happened at Porto and Chelsea.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

In Mourinho's book he speaks about supporting Liverpool as a youngman and being obsessed with the way Liverpool played. He says his best ever players were Hansen, Dalglish and Souness - he names them - he didn't even mention Maradona, Cruyff etc.

He would LOVE to manage us, but I would hate him here.

I personally think this is the same "source" that said the same thing prior to us signing Rafa and him signing for Chelsea.

Jose can lick the peanuts from my bum, hate him.
