With Crouch unfortunately about to depart for City for 12 mil, we will have the funds to grab berbatov from spurs. If Rafa wants him, it will be a straight race between us and Unired.

Well, Rafa tried to sign him before he signed for Atletico but couldn't afford him, so who knows.

For what its worth I think Berbatov and Torres would be too similar to play together. Tevez was the right player to fit with Fernando and we know where he is. We need a creator,a player that can pull the midfield and forward(s) together - thats not Berbatov. For the record I think we can sell Kuyt and just move Babel forward and we've already improved our chances of winning the premier league.

There is no way in hell, Rafa will go after Berbatov. In an interview with Jol earlier in the week, he said that Berabtov was Ronaldhino,with a bad attitude. He implied he played well when he wanted to, was a bit lazy and had to be told twice to come on as a sub.

Can you really see Rafa going for a player like that? NO CHANCE.

We do not, Crouch, Kuyt and Torres can all play that role. We have been yearning for a Rooney like player since Kenny left, Augero is the closest to that type of player of sufficient quality that may be available IMO. I would make him a priority signing.
