To be honest - I'm disappointed in the way Rafa conducted himself yesterday. His 'antics' in the press conference has brought this to everybody's attention - which we could all have done without.

I think both sides should have handled it better, by releasing that statement it confirmed there is something going on and the press are vultures, they won't simply forget about this, they will try and fan the flames.

The thing that mystifies me is why Rafa keeps going on about transfer kitties, we obviously need to find funds for the new stadium who's cost has soared in recent times. On top of this the financial market is in turmoil and all the indications are of a massive downturn in the market, especially stateside! At the end of the day G&H are the owners and know what money is available to spend and top players command top wages. I don't think it helps to keep airing these things in the press at all.

We can debate Rafa's tactics in using the press to get what he wants, but it's a bit simplistic to say that Rafa should just accept that his hands are tied and move on, IMO.

I can't substantiate this, but trust me that it came from some good Reds fans.

My take is that the STUPID American owners don't know what they've got with Rafa, ignoring his calls and giving him the short shrift is unacceptable.

If you look at their 'franchises' in America they are far from successful, my feeling is that they have too many fingers in too many pies.

Another problem is both owners have to agree for any decisions to be made (two bosses rarely work see Evans/Houllier)

What the frick is Parry up to as well, he should be the liaise between the owners and Rafa.

Rafa desperately wants to win things and to do so he wants us to be able to compete with Man Yoo and the Chavs at the top. For too long we have been the bridesmaids in signing players and in the League.
