To all those who would welcome Mourinho…

Imagine we play a Rafa Benitez side in the semi-final of the European Cup next season. Mourinho is making a cunt of himself in the press again…antagonising everyone, making us look classless and small-time, mocking Rafa and his record, while Rafa fires back (from, say, Madrid) with his usual class, wit and sarcasm. How sickening would that be? How sickening to be on Mourinho’s side, to have him as “our leader”.

Yes, at the end of the day it’d be LFC v Real Madrid and that would be all that mattered, but I would be physically sick to have ‘Jose’ in the trenches with us, while Rafa led the opposition. I don’t find such hypocrisy and such fickle behaviour easy or very becoming.

To put it in simpler terms, all those who are salivating at the prospect of that ****ehawk being anywhere near our club are stabbing Rafa in the back by even contemplating it.

    ******s.

I like jose. he an extrovert but so what. he also a fooking brilliant manager and probably the hottest managerial talent around that's available.

"What exactly do the Americans think they’re gonna get? A meek yes-man who won’t make any demands? Er, hello? A manager whose teams play a more attractive brand than Rafa’s teams? HELLO???????? I could go on."

They don't want a meek yes man, they just want someone who will not be a media liability for them and turn fans against them. That's very different. Jose has been a media success story for chelsea and as someone has mentioned earlier, a big, big attraction for both top players and corporate sponsorship.

Mourinho's chelsea was a machine, a squad he largely inherited that would steamroller most (except us of course) until he had ballack and schevchenko forced upon him. this essentially was the beginning of the end for him there and he still came close to the title.

What you criticise of his tactics with Huth up front ignores some absolutely crucual points. Like the fact that we hoof it as often as anyone in the top half of the prem does and more importantly that Jose could so very nearly have won both semi-finals. Had gudjohnsen's shot gone in in 05 or aggers goal been disallowed due to a foul this summer then we'd all have a very different perspective on Jose. He could have been a double euro cup winning manager. Were we not a bit lucky to come back in the 05 final?

He and his tactics were very, very close. so simply, he's not sh1t. Was garcia's goal genuinely, beyond all doubt, fully over the line? If we lost the semi final in 05 and jose publicly rejected the call like he did then we'd LOVE him. He'd be one of us.

Reiterating what i say above, rafa needs the backing, he is the one we all want to win things for us. but if our owners have decided its already too late? What do we do then? Who'd you want?

Really?! Parry is aiding Rafa's cause? That would make things ten times better in my view. Come on Rick, sort it out man.

if the resignation part is true and i believe my guy, then i believe rafa is staying cos it would of been cheaper for the yanks to accept the resignation rather than sack him and lose a major PR war with the fans.

John Thompson was just on radio 5 and he said that it's like the first spat in a new marriage.

He thinks it can be sorted and he doesn't know if Bascombes article is accurate.

I've read this on another site.

Sorry mate but that is BANG WRONG.

The main reason Roman wanted rid of Mourinho was because he was sick sick SICK to death of his bleating, his berating of referees and the all-round bad press he was bringing on Chelsea. He started brightly, but eventually he became a PR liability. Fact.

Agreed, as you said IF true, I'm sure they'd have snapped his hands off

When you say sorted, you mean resolving it so rafa stays?

And how good is your source?

God, if parry sorts it out so rafa stays, i'll forgive everything.

What about the offal TV channel? phone in, say you wanna talk about how great the team was tonight then sneak a message to the owners mid convo? Can see the offal having people slagging the owners off so it might be a good idea, unless theres a delay which in that case it wont be worth it.
                          Sorry, jabbering on.

I am assuming that's directed at me since there arent many saying anything positive about jose. Thanks but there's no need for that. Ironic given you are spouting on about how classless jose is. Take a look in the mirror.

No-one is salivating. NONE of us want Rafa to go. But its clear he's prepared to walk. Go out fighting and blaze of glory or whatever but he's prepared himself for the end.

Some of us are just trying to be objective whilst sh1tting it that we could be without Rafa in January (if not sooner) and if so, what the fookin ell do we do? Sit through another 5 year transition where we just scrape into the CL each year whist the mancs beat our league record and win the CL again? who would we get? WHAT DOES THE FUTURE LOOK LIKE WITHOUT RAFA?
