Can't remember the exact quote but they said something along the lines of there would be money to sign whoever we needed, we'd sign Snoogy Doggy if necessary, and the way things seem to have gone over last few weeks it's unlikely we'll sign anyone for a significant fee, after the substantial investment comments from Hicks

So we haven't missed out on anyone, you are assuming we will miss out on someone in Jan when we know nothing. All they have said is that they want to wait till 16th December to discuss it. That is a lack of understanding and that is all, it isn't them back tracking on promises.
Why can't you wait and see if they do something wrong instead of assuming they will.

Sorry I probably put that badly on the initial post, my point is that there seems to be a difference between what was being said when they first came in and what's being said now. At the start it was all grand visions, big fancy new stadiums and competing with the likes of Man Utd in the transfer market. Now it seems we aren't able to compete in the transfer market as Hicks is giving the impression he thinks he's spent enough on the team (with his significant investment and spending more money than previously spin), if the stadium that they were bigging up falls through, I can't see them having the backing of the supporters for much longer.

I will wait and see what happens I just don't think it looks too promising, I'd love nothing more than to be proved wrong, but that is the situation as I see it at the moment

Yeah but lets not forget it hasn't fallen through (yet?) and also they said they would discuss transfers on the 16th, they are not saying that no on ewill be signed or they wont back Rafa just that at the mo lets try and win some games - which we are doing.

Think you will find that I said an increased capacity would only be approved if they improved the infrastructure in the area (ie the Bootle train line)
That is still the case, any approval of an increased capacity will be subject to improving the infrastructure
