Element of truth, but that's too simplistic IMO. Doesn't take into account the crucial factor of players' conditioning over the course of a long and intense season. That's why the league winners these days have big squads and rotate a lot.

He's right DJ, we've now scored 51 in all competitions this season.

Sorry mate, i thought he meant in the last 5 games, where we'd scored 21 - i thought he was using his right hand side set of numbers, where the '5' is above the '2'

On the rotation thing, it is simplistic, but i also think it's no coincidence. Players build up a rhythm and it becomes habitual, almost machine-like. Change it around and it interrupts this. Couple of changes per game, yeah no probs. But when you're getting 4 or more, it's problematic for me.

Moreover, as i've said so many times, intelligent rotation is fine. But not dropping matchwinners for difficult games.

For what it's worth, Bolton at home is the kind of game i'd feel fairly happy about seeing Kuyt and Voronin start together because frankly, we should easily beat teams like Bolton even without the likes of Torres/Gerrard.

Against Birmingham at home we had our best possible side available starting besides Torres. We should of won that too but instead of blaming the players on the pitch for you it was rotation. Can't have it both ways DJ.

Rafa can't win with some people can he?! And Bolton have always given most top teams they play problems cos of the way they play (or used to), there would have been anarchy on here if Torres hadn't started today and we'd lost/drawn

the only thing bugging me is the 2 defensive midfielders policy which has thankfully been ditched. It's not always about the 11 names on the sheet, it's sometimes about the way the team is set up and the 2 defensive midfielders policy killed us in earlier games.

But did Rafa really have much of a choice with the injuries etc we had at the time?

Before shaking your head and jizzing your pants at the opportunity to have a pop at me, you should maybe check to make sure i hadnt previously said that the brum game wasnt down to the manager.

                  Because i have done.

                      Which ones were then?

Seriously, it appears Rafa needs to employ you as his "Rotation advisor". It seems when we lose he gets his rotation wrong, when we win he gets it just right. Then you post in hindsight that you knew all along.

Ah **** it, I should know better than to bite.

Not at all. You should know better than to just be daft and make your assumptions, rather than actually base your criticisms on what i actually SAY.

I've said countless times that i dont blame rafa for the brum game, those plebs should've won it and he cant legislate for his far superior XI not doing the business. There are several games like this, today's, Wigan, Sunderland, Derby, Boro, Fulham etc...

Pompey away, was a different matter though.

Are we clear on that now?

I hate to do this to you mate, but that really wasn't the way I remembered it at all so I checked your posts on the matter. This is what I found...

What i'm saying is i'd rather fail to win Carling Cup games, than crucial league matches.

You sound ridiculously bitter. Brum have no obligation to play in any given way, as long as it's within the rules, they can use as many men in front of their own goal as they like. We failed to win because Rafa's stupid rotation policy meant our best attacker was picking splinters, and because the master tactician had no answer to their highly unoriginal 'everyone behind the ball' approach. Our fault, not their's.

Yep. Rafa's rotation has cost us 2 points, possibly according to you. This does not factor in what points his rotation may win us later or the fact that football can be a real bitch at times.

Considering the amount of criticism you gave it I do have to wonder if any of it was valid especially as we do not know the condition of the players at the time.
