Polo posted a couple of examples of me blaming rafa's rotation for the brum draw...ok? With me so far?

They were 2 days after the game, which i perceive to be still in the heat of the moment, still fecked off with the result, etc...

Then a MONTH later, i posted that i didnt blame rafa for the brum game, because the team he picked should still have won.

That's the evidence and i posted a link to it.

    I'll do it again.

    Look.

Are you sure? Even when Rafa plays momo ans Mascherano?

I'd say they're both defensive midfielders.

Momo isn't a defensive midfielder. He usually plays box to box.

I would say that Momo have a free position when he plays just as Gerrard but Momo is the destroyer and Gerrard the creator.

Destroyer, destroy the other teams play.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Right i was too tired to write a little report yesterday but here's how i saw it......

We were just in control constantly, we always looked like scoring.

Reina barring one mistake was solid as usual, another clean sheet for the main man.

Riise- His best performance of the season, neither Davies nore Anelka troubled him at all. This was his first good performance for a long while, he was good defensively and also good going forward.

Hyypia was outstanding. Think back to how worried everyone was before the Arsenal game and look at him now. Totally solid and totally in control. What he lacks in pace he more than makes up in with Intelligence, awareness and reading of play. How many centre-backs are there in the world at his age who could compete in such a fast paced top class league?

Carra- ****in injured, hope he's back for the weekend

Arbeloa- ****in brilliant as usual. Doesnt matter if you play him left or right, he is as solid as they come. What a signing, he never put a foot wrong the whole game and was constantly overlapping on Benayoun and giving us options down the right.

Lucas- Quality player, controlled the midfield. In the past we struggled because we left Gerrard with too much to do in having to boss the midfield himself, now we have Mascher and Lucas to relieve the pressure. He was intelligent, never let anyone past him even once. Bolton resorted to play innefective long balls because lucas just wouldnt let them pass the ball through the middle.

          Gerrard. Quality quality quality

Kewell- Hmmmmmm looked like threatening but never quite did. It's all about the final product, he needs to step it up and start adding the final product to his play.

Yossi- was ok, made a few bad choices though othewise he could have scored a couple himself. Was taking too long on the ball

Torres- His pace and acceleration is ****ing scary. One minute he's standing still, the next second he is away. And what a finish for that goal. Pure genius. Words cant describe how good this lad is

Crouch- Fluffed a few chances, his first touch kept letting him down. Should have scored a couple. Never had a great game, but Crouch partnered with Torres is the way to go in my opinion. There were a lot of positives to take from it. With a bit of confidence and if he stops letting the pressure get to him, Crouch could do alot of damage alongside Torres

Hobbs- Did well, didnt panick. Looked like an experienced defender

Babel- Good but takes too many touches. A few times he had the opportunity to shoot but hung onto the ball too long. He has a great shot on him, just seems to pick the wrong time to shoot lol

Kuyt- Looked lively when he came on. Good sub to have

All in all i was happy. Decent atmosphere and a controlled quality performance from the boys. My only complaint is with the crowd. Every single match it seems to me that the atmosphere is generated from the Kop and from the Anfield Road end, but its the main stand and the centenery where people dont sing and the chants die down quickly

Good summary, although I think Kewell had a decent game and added creativity.

He did ok, still only about 70% id say though. Hopefully he'll keep improving

Good sum-up. Just wanted to add:

Hyppia - I thought he was finally finished, specially with his lack of pace. Unbelieveable player still bossing his position.

Yossi - Had Crouch and Babel scored those easy chances Yossi would have had two fantastic assists again. Even below par Yossi is a dangerous customer - Beardsley reborn?

Atmosphere in stands - As an OOTer I've only ever been to one midweek premiership game last season (Boro) and was in the main stand. I was the only one singing and even my mate was embarrassed with me. I couldn't believe all these season ticket holders all around me just sitting there despite the Kop trying to rouse the noise. Unfortunately, most of our ticket holding fans are turning into manure supporters. :-(
                One tit for another.

Mate, it has been like this 50 % of the times I have been at Anfield.
The other times I have been lucky enough to have Mike K or some other young lively fans nearby so I am not completely alone.

I think you are right but realistically what was being complained about was the use of two destructive midfield players who offer little creatively.

I actually think the key to us returning to form was the control Momo and Mascher exerted in the Blackburn game and that we gave gained in confidence after that game. It was the first time in a long time we had forced our pattern of play onto an opposition side. However we were unable to turn a good performance into 3pts which is a good example of why we can't regularly resort to such tactics. At least when we don't have one or more on form goal threats in the team.

Its always the same, the Kop sings, the anfield road end tries to join in and vice versa , but the singing doesnt last long because the 2 middle stands are always quiet

This is indeed the case. I was in the Centenary for the Birmingham game and all around me were scouse season ticket holders. I know it wasn't the best of games, but all they were doing throughout the match was moaning and getting on the backs of players like Riise and Babel. Didn't even get a song going once during the course of the whole game. First time I have ever been to Anfield and not sung once (with the exception of YNWA at the start of course). Utterly depressing and embarrasing. It's better in the Centenary on a European night, but still too subdued for my liking.

I think we need cheerleaders or something like that.

In Sweden we have some people who helps the crowd to sing and chant all the time.

Should at least be tested to see how it works out because something need to be done.
