One sloppy set piece undid us today. We weren't as bad as people are making out though.

We were very good second half, bossed the game 100% and they relied on hoofing up the ball. It was difficult to breach a tight defence. We could have done with Alonso and Agger.

Anyone could tell 2 subs were needed at half-time, how many were made? None, as usual. Its pure stubborness.

I will back Rafa to the hilt but when he makes stubborn, stupid mistakes like this it is hard to. He really doe's shoot himself in the foot sometimes as much as I love him, like at Reading. he refuses to learn from his mistakes.

I still think Rafa can win us the league but, and surely SOME people must agree, that he has to start learning from his mistakes, and change some of his stubborn attitude!

The only person who has come out of this with any dignity is Mascherano. He HAS to be signed!

No we weren't.

We matched them everywhere.

Except in our composure in the final third.

But I do think generally we have a mental block when we play them. An inferiority complex.

Lucas should have come on in 2nd half as we were chasing the game.

Usual probelm of lack of creativity wingers. Which has still not been solved.

What ? They rested their full team and we played with the same team. With our teams being so close, it had to have a small effect surely ????

We had 4 full recovery days. What do you think footballers are?

And if it did have an effect, it would have showed in possession stats etc but we dominated possession from start to finish and played at a high tempo throughout so how can you blame tiredness?

We looked distinctly second best today. Very worried for Rafa.

Rubbish it was a **** game, the SCUM were playing like they came for a draw I didn't even remember that their fabulous wide players Ronaldo and Giggs were even playing.

We gave a **** goal and that's it and I still think we are progressing and this is by far our best team under Rafa. Just ****ing gutted that we lost two seasons in a row to the SCUM to two **** goals, it should have AT LEAST been a draw.

Situation now is... they either give him the money or sack him. Pretty simple really. Rafa picked the right team. Kewell, Benny, Kuyt let him down. But for me management is about tactics and instilling belief in your team (motivation if you like). The tactics were not working and it was obvious to me 30 minutes in. He didnt change it until 65 in. It was also very obvious that we were nervous playing them.

I'm on the fence. I can't see Rafa winning us the league to be honest. There is no improvement from 3 years ago against the top sides. Three years ago we finished 5th and won number 5. This year, in all honesty, hard to see us finishing above 3rd.

Riise was solid defensively. Agreed.

But people saying that he's better than Evra? Laughable. Just see how Evra got fwd and was possibly their most dangerous player in the first half. In tight games like this you need your fullbakcs to be good outlet going fwd and sadly even Arbeloa was a bit poor today

We need to spend money and more than United. That's the difference. Rafa is doing a fabulous job.
