I always believe and hope that we will win the league but you should know by now that I'm probably the most realistic Est member.

It's boring to be that realistic but it helps me when I make my bets.

Its another big game so theres no need for mass changes. Id keep Reina in goal with the same back 4.
If Alonso is fit then he'd replace Mascherano and Sissoko to replace Benayoun, Babel on the left for Kewell. Crouch & Torres up front. Four changes should be enough.

The CC is one the three trophies that we have a realistic chance to win at the start of the season, sure I would love us to win the league but it's not a realistic target yet.

The CC, FA Cup and CL is realistic targets. Every trophy counts and the CC is a little bit extra more important now because Everton are still involved and we should try and stop them winning even the CC, they shouldn't win anything.

Well I for one thought we had a shout at the start of the season and TBH I still think we have an outside chance. There is plenty of football left to play. Just out if curiosity why didn't you think we had a realistic chance?

i seem to remember having quite a heated discussion with you about this last year.

I said who cares when we got knocked out last year......and got slagged for it.

I still haven't changed my opinion. But im glad you have.

Its a **** competition, and a waste of time if you ask me. We play enough games as it is, and adding this into our already hectic schedule doesnt help.

It's the perfect competition to blood the young players like babel, hobbs, leto, lucas, insua etc and give them first team experience playing against premiership players and alongside experienced team mates like hypia, alonso etc etc

Part of the point has to be to get them to understand how to win though IMO. In this case I feel that means that we can only give a limited number of the most promising or most likely to break through a chance. I would go with Hobbs, Lucas and Insua in that order of priority probably.

I think that Lucas will get his chances elsewhere, on talent alons he would be the one I would be most likely to pick.

Because we still have holes in our starting XI and in our squad. We don't have enough high quality players all over the pitch and that will show up during a long season.
