I was just replying to Niall's tongue in cheek comment about some posters in here when he had no argument whatsoever to say what he said.

There's two camps, those who will back the manager and others who will sit on the fence, which seems to be a minority of 5 or 6 posters. The others are moaners and people who just wallow in their negativity.

And what does your viewpoint on the manager have to do with anything? We're talking about facts here, or rather the lack of them.

Absolutely agree that some people don't think Rafa's the bees knees, I'm one of them, but what has that got to do with anything.

And on the subject of moaners; what was that about us not spending enough money to compete with the scum and the chavs?

Americans tend to choose words very carefully. one word that wasent a ringing endorsement from gillette was immediate when he spoke to the ex players the other night he said, we want rafa or hes our man for the immediate future. knowing Americans like i do, it was a calculated statement. immediate is now, long term is a vote of confidence

Where did he say that? Looking back on the quotes all I could find was "Rafa is the one we want as manager further on, and we have faith in him".

'Further on' sounds a bit more of an endorsement than 'immediate', which would be a pretty silly thing for Gillette to say given that it's obviously not very supportive
