Wenger have always been in control of transfers, together with Dein before Arsenal sacked him, now he takes care of the transfers himself.

Fergie is in control of the transfers at Old Trafford, he has the ultimate say if he want a player or not. Money isn't as a big issue for them so he won't need to think about the price as much as Rafa so he can afford to let someone else take care of the money bit, Rafa can't do that.

If Fergie want a £30m player then the board will back him up, he knows that, so he won't need to bother with issues like that.

We have Parry taking care of the negotiations and that means that everything will be a little bit more expensive and we can't afford that.

And this is what I've been worrying about all along. You mention 4 of them but where the f**k is that turncoat Foster?? I knew it was him...he's the Judas who wanted Rafa out.

Now, if yo changed the above adding that Foster gives them all a golden shower whilst also going for a Rafa reach around then I'll be able to sleep easy.

Yes, and could be easily spun both ways, so in my eyes it clears up nothing.

The way I see things, (and no doubt Niall will accuse me of jumping in at the deep end with no evidence whatsoever and making a fool of myself), it appears at some point they decided to get rid of Rafa but for whatever reason they have granted him a stay of execution, may be because results have not been bad enough to justify his sacking or because of the obvious support he has from the fans. And since then they have been looking to intensify the pressure on him as much as they possibly can, almost to precipitate his departure. It's the only reason I can think of why they haven't given him the ringing endorsement publicly that will kill all the speculation stone dead and instead have been releasing these non-descript statements that serve only to fan the flames.

But why would they grant him a stay of execution?

If they weren't happy they could just sack him and just get somebody else in, why would they wait?

It's time to leave this whole issue alone, not that I think there is one. To be honest I've found the whole episode embarrassing for this club, from Rafa's outburst to the fallout in which the hacks and hysterical net insider wannabees somehow managed to convince grown men through third hand rumours and benign press releases. The nadir was Rushian "we're being run by mancs" thread on Rawk. No facts, just a provocative title to whip'em into a frenzy. Sad thing is it works, and it will continue to.

Now let's get on with the important stuff, the football. No doubt Rafa will.

Shame some just won't let it lie.

I think we are talking past each other here. I agree the Fergerson lists the comings and goings, but he does not have full control as he does not negotiate the deals
