Another positive article, this time from the BBC. Seriously, maybe this has all been a storm in a teacup? If Rafa signs players in January then some of the internet insiders and the likes of Bascombe will be shown to be complete and utter fools / bull sh!tters. I have been thinking about whether spending 17mill on Mascher is really the right way forward. It looks like it would be 3/4 of our entire netspend in a summer window. Maybe Lucas, Gerrard, Yossi and Alonso would be sufficient for the time being? I like Mascher a lot but 17 mill? Even gold can be bought at too high a price.

I think we need to focus on to quality wingers and better fullbacks. A really good CB cover and another ace striker. In other words, considering the apparent limited funds 17 mill for a midfielder might be OTT?

Momo might, through some sort of deranged miracle, bring us 8/9mill and Carson around 10. The question is whether we should use this money to tie down Mascher or look at solving some of the other problems.

Ace stirker: 18/20 mill?
Ace wingers: 35 mill?
Evra mould fullbacks: 30 mill?
CB: ?

I just think that 17 mill might be too much considering Alonso and Lucas.

What has taken me back is the number of statements that Parry is having to make at the moment about different matters. I have never known LFC have to do this before, especially when you consider most is made up by the press. Also why is it not Cotton making these statements?

No they won't. They certainly didn't in the summer when they all to varying degrees got things wrong. Remember people were taken in for years by Koptalk.

Still there is probably an element of turth in a lot of the speculation about finances being tight due to the credit crunch. The plain fact of the matter is that no matter what happens all insiders/journos will cling to anything that vaguely fits with what they stated as validation and ignore anything which contradicts them. Much like most posters on the internet.

Thats very true. Its almost like the club has embarked on a deliberate policy of refuting negative press as a matter of course. Maybe its to try and start an agenda of positive spin and PR given all the crap thats been spouted lately.

Think you are right on the Bascombe front, I know my opinion of him has changed (well it did in the summer when he got everything wrong) and by reading on here and other sites most people seem to think he is full of ****.
