If Rafa signs players in January then some of the internet insiders and the likes of Bascombe will be shown to be complete and utter fools / bull sh!tters. Alot of people may well lose their reputations over this.
Really? It was Benitez that leaked the story to Bascombe and Balauque.

Has anyone ever seen photographic evidence that Ian Cotton really exists? I'm skeptical.

Any proof of this? As in a quote from Rafa? Anything else is circumstantial at best, bull**** at worst.

{EDIT} This wasn't a go at Tom, just saying that it's easy to say on a forum that "Rafa himself passed on the info" when the reality may be completely different.

And I'm still not convinced that Balaugue is as close to Rafa as he would like people to believe.

of course it's circumstantial, hearsay, what else could it be due to the nature of the process. In the end you take it or leave it.

One of the Hicks clan also said to the former players at their do the other night, "we've just had a very amicable meeting with the ex-manager."

Hardly the kind of joke that would be made if relations were still that strained.

No there isn't. Nobodies claiming papal infallibility.

I got roasted on here by passing on the story that there had been a major bust up and rafa was on the way out. I pointed out that it came from a member of the local press. Lo and behold, next day it's in the echo.
I really shouldn't bother. In future I'm not going to.

Having read a recent interview Rafa did with Spanish radio I think Balague and Rafa are very close mates.

I was told it mate from someone who was there, really wasn't a big deal to anyone there. As I say it was just a way for the speaker to break the ice.
