Fredo - yes we created a lot, but some of our defending was comical, and some of our passing was terrible. Did more than enough to win, but it was by no means our best home performance.

Our game plan totally crashed when Rafa took off Masch. Pennant is the one that should have gone off. Just shows how important Masch is for us.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

This place is a farce. A complete farce.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostIt's not about a fluke goal fredo, we can accept fluke goals. It is about the team lacking the killer instinct to secure 3 points when they have the opportunity. Wigan's fluke goal as you call it should have made it 3-1.
How on earth is Rafa to blame for the result today ???

We battered them. Should Rafa come on the pitch and score too ??? We had a fluid formation, and played very very well. Our passing was sharp and it wasn't at all a defensive formation !
We had plenty of movement. If it wasn't for a bad clearance from Stevie it would have been an easy 1-0 win.
Get a grip.

It's not because we played with 2 holding midfielders that we've drawn, it's because we couldn't score from clear cut chances, a familiar failing this season.Bollocks - we were all over them - Fredo is talking a bit of sense...Originally posted by Nic83 View PostSign out.

Fredo you're spot on. WE DID play well - but that's exactly the point. We simply aren't RUTHLESS enough to convert the chances we do create. And Rafa isn't ruthless enough to change things to make it happen. He has to take the blame for our lack of cutting edge. It doesn't surprise me with the likes of playing 1 up at home and then bringing the 2 strikers we have on the bench on until the 85th minutes..and not even having our second most threatening attacking player on the bench (Babel -he wasn't injured was he?).
For the first time as LFC manager he deserves the "consistent" criticism he's getting. His decision making is becoming bizarre and baffling.

451 never works with stevie except when we are playing the Irish champions in the 1st round qualifier for the CL.
didnt see or hear about the game except the score. Another fine goal disallowed then for us? didnt see the game, but referring decision have given the Chavs 2 extra points & taken 2 off us in as many days.
Even so this is by no means acceptable & the problem is I could see it a mile off. We never win our games in hand. Where was Babel FFS. Did he come on today? RAfa seems to like to leave it until the last minute to make subs.
I dunno, not sure I can even be arsed watchin the game on sunday. I just feel sick. Even another European cup wont help cos we are so far off in the league it is unbelieavable.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Who's fault is it then?Originally posted by ningnangnong View PostIt's not Rafa's fault that we choke in front of goal.
Other than Torres, our players are afraid to shoot, or just shoot straight at the keeper.
Sorry ning nang but Rafa is the same as any other manager in world football, they are judged on their results and against their peers.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

FFS man. We never dominated Wigan like we should have. We managed 3 shots on goal the entire 1st half and only 3 in the 2nd. There was no urgency whatsoever about this performance. He tried to bottle it again and it didn't work...again.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostOther than not teaching Gerrard how to clear a ball from his own box, what did Rafa do wrong today? NOTHING.
Do you want Rafa to get into the pitch and finish the chances we make himself? Do you want him to get into our box and show our players how to clear a soft free kick?
We fail in the simple things, the simple things which teams like the mancs know how to deal with. An offside trap after a corner, a simple clearance out of the box, a simple finish with the keeper on the ground, a simple finish one on one with the keeper with no defenders around you and all the time to control the ball... It's these simple things, not tactics, not formation, not even ability have to do with it. It's the basics of the game.
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

Very disappointing.
After the City game, I posted that we should be beating teams that have no intention of beating us.
The same happened tonight. That is twice in two games. It seams that if you are happy with a point against Liverpool, then you can get it.
We have to learn that our current tactics are wrong. We don't need wholesale changes and new signings. We need to attack teams that defend in numbers. Run at the man. force errors. Force fouls. Force set pieces and cards. We have players who can do that."Sir, it's me sir. Jennings sir."

Who do you blame for not enough strikers who last time I checked score goals. Pennant has only scored one goal, Kewell hasn't scored in donkeys years, Torres was our main threat. We needed Crouch or Babel to startOriginally posted by fredo View PostThis place is a farce. A complete farce.

Load of ****e. Title was probably out of reach before tonight but when you think we still have to take this group of players to the Emirates, Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge the thought of #19 is laughable.
We're 2 quality wingers and a striker short of being a genuinely competitive side. It's not the Yanks' fault, its years of mismanagement by the previous regime for dragging their heels over a million here or there. We could have had Ronaldo.

It was after an international break I think.Originally posted by CAD View PostFor me it was the pompey away game. I knew (and wrote it here as well) that we were ****ed after that. He changed 5 positions after a 6-0 win and benched both Torres and Gerrard FFS. And Pompey were so there for the taking as well.
I hope Klinsmann will do better and field a positive aggressive side at home against the ****e sides.
But your point is valid.
Dropped our best two attacking players, handed the initiative to Pompey.
Did we have a European game that midweek?
Reading away, 3-1 down, takes Gerrard and Torres off with 20 minutes left.
We played Marseille that midweek.
It would be nice to have a manager who gives the league his full attention.I hate Polanski
