Good point. Out of interest what is profit compared to ours? Turnover figures alone can be misleading.

They made £70m profit last year, th papers predicted £30m for us, but in recent years we have been loosing money or after the CL win we made £5m profit.

The Reason the Mancs are so far ahead is because we had Laurel and Hardy run the club. Whilst the Mancs increased their stadium, used SKY and the new premiership to their advantage as a global marketing tool, Laurel and Hardy were still stuck in the 1980's and all that 'tradition', making poor decision after poor decision and then making the ultimate poor decision in allowing the American's to take over.

The financial mess is one thing you can't blame on Rafa.

United record gross turnover of £245m to 30th June 2007. Last figure I can find for LFC is about £122m.

I know they spend more, but IMO catching United on approximately half their budget is a seriously difficult task. Rafa's done pretty well so far I reckon.

Sorry to play devils advocate but does this mean we shouldnt have beaten Luton, Wigan, Birmingham, Reading with the squad we have?
