Big interview with Rafa in Echo

It's just an alternative view point and one which I hope is wrong, but Rafa is very good at using the media get his message across be it to the board or to the fans and I've never seen him come out like this before, last summer he was going to Real Madrid according to some of the media and that didn't end in a passionate outburst from the manager about his love for LFC etc....

It's just my opinon, but I don't think he's comfortable right now, I think he wants to stay and he's building support for himslef which is exactly what he should do if that is the scenario.

I think the timing of the interview is directly linked to Parry`s trip to USA.The second installment will come from the other side of the pond and put this to bed until the media think we`re ready to be whipped into a frenzy again.

I think it's imperative that G&H creates an enviroment where Rafa gets the peace to soldier on without the press all over him speculating about Real etc.

My guess is, IF they want him to stay, that they will offer an extension very soon. If nothing happens Rafa will be under the gun for the rest of the season and it could snowball into something very unpleasant.

I think everybody involved recognize the potential risk and that they are forced to act now. Hence the interview with Rafa and the the following statement of intent from G&H when Parry comes back.

If nothing happens regarding Rafa and his contract extension he will be gone before summer imho.

Your take on the Rafa/board situation has not been your shining glory though.

I`m not trying to put you down but at a time when there`s speculation from the press about Rafa`s job you`ve been standing with a gallon of petrol to help fan the flames.

I find myself defending Tom which is most disconcerting however what flames is he fanning exactly? this place is for discussion and opinion, or do you believe G&H come in here and look to Tom for guidance?

Why should they speed up their buisness contracts with employees to pacify a press that will look for another supposed problem within Liverpool FC after this has blown over????

It`s a no win situation.
1.The board don`t publically back Rafa and it means he`s doomed.
2.The board publically Back Rafa and it means the kiss of death.
