I saw worse players than Stevie today, and yet he's the one who starts getting the stick. I think he's entitled to the odd bad game anyhow.

He generally gets away with getting to much stick in fairness, fabulous player and a great heart and all that I'm not knocking him but as Captain as our Talisman he should be rising above that type of play and showing others how it's done.
Unfortunatley it's not his first or even 2nd or 3rd bad game in recent weeks.
BTW read my post above mate I've pretty much slated them all today.

Havent read all this thread because i cant be arsed reading all the doom merchants comparing to Houiller, how much Rafa has spent, style of play, who was and wasnt picked etc etc.

All i'll say is that we are stuck in a bit of a rut form and confidence wise. All its going to take is a little win, possible against Luton and we will kick on for the last 5 months.

Top 4 is a definite this season easy! The league is maybe a touch to far, but i was honestly really looking to next season as the one

Lucas, Babel, Insua to be regluars next season with a couple of major buys in the summer. We are really really close to being there!! if only 2 draws had been turned into wins this season we would be rite in the mix.

Dont lose faith people. We are soooooooo close lets not rip the plan up and start again

A note to Hicks & Gillett - Spend peanuts you get monkeys / Splash cash you get Torres

We now need quality attacking players to play alongside Torres & Gerrard. That means committing serios wedge. No point in building a 70k stadium if we are not doing it on the pitch. Give Rafa a 50 million NET budget this summer and go for broke. Let him sign an Aguero or a Queresma or a Huntelaar!! The man needs your support.

Does that mean he should sulk and hide on the pitch when things aren't going well. You didn't see Roy Keane(different type of captain but still) go missing, he would have dished out a few rollickings and got his team showing a bit of fight.

spot on, his attitude was off which is why he derserves some stick today imo, we have players who perform badly, but a world class player and our captain sulking around and not focussing on winning the game at all costs, that sucks

I'm a big supporter of Rafa but its hard to justify his reign this season. Yes we don't have the cash of Man U & Chelsea but EFC, Man C, Villa are right on our tail.

the truth is rafa is too defensive. We've lost only twice in 21 games but drawn far too many. Look at our team today. we played 2 right backs to combat their main threat, Downing. would any of the other top 3 teams done that...not a chance. We will not win the league with selections like that.

Is it time for Rafa to go...not yet but this can't go on much longer. Once again we are struggling to get 4th place whichever way you look at it, thats not on.

You can't keep blaming a lack of cash. Man C, Villa, EFC are right on our tail and they've spent miles less than us in recent years.
