What would have happened to us if Thaksin would have taken control?

using the same argument.............. the more successful we are the higher their profile

The more succesful we are the more they can make out of marketing etc.

its self serving bring back the glory days and the country gets a higher profile

you only have to look at Godolphin
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

and LFC is a lot bigger than Godolphin if you look at it globally. The prestige that they would earn by owning the biggest club in the world in the biggest sport in the world is worth a lot.

They would probably use us as their flagship. Look at LFC and what we did with them, this is what we will do with your company. Makes it a little bit easier to get other business deals.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Why do people talk about Godolphin as if it has relevence. Al Mocktum (or whatever his name is) has a love for horse racing, it is his plaything and the only sport he loves - sport of kings etc. He owns it personnaly and gets great joy in spending on it and trying to make it the best. LFC would not be his plaything, it would be a business owned by a business he is a share holder of, that is all. He isn't interested in football or our club personally.

Who knows what he will do?

The point is just that, no one knows how he would use us. It's all speculation but I'm sick and tired of G&H and their behavior against Rafa and their talk without any action.

If G&H stays then we won't win the league until 2013 or 2014 or something like that. I don't like that at all.

See your confusing him and DIC, DIC are a company with shareholders. You need to seperate him and the company. In your opinion we wouldn't win it, that is not a fact.

That is my opinions and what I believe he would do.

If you take that as fact then you really are deluded. Do you really think for a fact that I know what DIC would do?

The main difference i see between the two groups is the major factor here, any Dubai group would be able to manage the business from a financial point of view (possibly not even rely on funding), something that Hicks and Gillette seem to be struggling to do if reports are to be believed.

What concerns me most is that both froma financial and non financial point of view we seem to hearing too much about LFC the business that we have in recent weeks.

If a DIC bid meant that we wouldnt be hearing about it, this would bring some welcome relief. I would be happy to see a bid from DIC, if it meant financial stability in a time when we are looking to improve the club (business as a whole). I want the club as a business to be running well, we all saw what happened with Leeds.
                              Quit your jibber jabber!!!

                                Dubai lining up Liverpool takeover
by Daniel Stanton on Sunday, 13 January 2008

Dubai is on the verge of lodging an offer to buy English football giant Liverpool as the current owners are struggling to refinance debt incurred in the takeover and running of the club, UK media reported on Sunday.

Dubai International Capital (DIC), the private equity investment arm of state-owned Dubai Holding, is thought to be preparing a bid of just under $1 billion and negotiations over a possible takeover are due before the end of February, according to UK weekly The Observer.

DIC, together with Zabeel Investments, lost out to Americans Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr in a bid for Liverpool last February. Hicks and Gillett paid $340 million for the club and agreed to take over $87.7 million of debt, but the takeover was funded entirely with borrowed money.

Hicks and Gillett have until the end of February before a loan that has swelled to around $685.2 million is due to be repaid. The pair, who are personally liable for the loan, are trying to transfer the debt onto the club, but bankers claim this will be almost impossible to do in the time remaining, the newspaper reported.

Bankers say the global credit crunch has made the refinancing much more difficult.

Sources have confirmed to the Observer that DIC remain interested in buying the football club, although when contacted by Arabian Banking & Finance on Sunday DIC had no comment to make.

Sameer Al Ansari, CEO and chairman of DIC, is known to be a Liverpool fan.
