Got to say mate this is what I've been thinking this morning, the Observer are not normally ones for gossip and also with it being their financial reporters and not sports ones makes me wonder if there is a small amount of truth to this.

the fact it is the Observer's City jounalists doing the story means it could have been leaked by lawyers/financiers working on a potential DIC takeover
