He's not as bad as Hicks, but I'm still suspicious of him. He knows the game and knows how to play it, wants to get the fans on side etc. It's his motives that make me suspicious. After all, he was at the meeting with Klinsmann according to Hicks. He's complicit in all this at the very least.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

Agree entirely.
If speculation is to be believed Gillett isn't as minted as his Texan chum. Wonder if this has ramifications as to how a DIC / Gillett partnership would be structured ?

Gillett has to shoulder alot of the blame for bringing that cowboy on board though. They should both fall on their own swords as far as I'm concerned.Originally posted by kopash View PostI actually quite like George Gillette. He seems to understand our club. I'm starting to really detest Hicks.

If he had an obligation, he shouldnt have agreed on any deal in principle.Originally posted by tomasjj View PostAh, but according to what we read here and there, Moores was obliged to consider the other rival bid, down to comittments to the shareholders.
I reckon DIC got the escape plan they needed as they weren't prepared to up their bid.
The bummer that might have pissed them off was not informing DIC that LFC was gonna have a meeting with other bidders, when apparently DIC had asked to be kept in the loop.
If what I have read is correct....
That's how they'd see it, i imagine. As i say, going back on an agreement is very highly frowned upon in Arabic culture and i'm sure DIC's backing out wasnt down to money.

If rumours are true, he stood up against Hicks' wishes to saddle the debt onto the club, siding with Moores and Parry, causing a good old mexican stand off...Originally posted by Dhavlos View PostHe's not as bad as Hicks, but I'm still suspicious of him. That does sound pretty good though. Sticking to his promise.
We will see though.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

Agree on the first part, also on the cultural issue on the second part, but I am unsure if the reason was money, honouring an agreement or a combination.Originally posted by DJS View PostIf he had an obligation, he shouldnt have agreed on any deal in principle.

That has to be the understatement of 2008 so far, surely. It's a contender for quote of the year.Originally posted by kopash View PostI actually quite like George Gillette. He seems to understand our club. I'm starting to really detest Hicks.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

I gave him the benefit of the doubt as previously we only really had press speculation to go on. But him spouting off the meeting with Klinsmann in public and the bull**** option story really made me realise what a chump he is

If the Gillett's stop the loan going through, I'll forgive them. I'd probably suck them off if I thought it was going to make a difference.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostGillett has to shoulder alot of the blame for bringing that cowboy on board though. I was willing to give them time but they have ridiculously poor. Why? We will never know the full story here but there is one fact, that is clear and present.
HICKS IS A DISEASE
Of that there is no doubt. His treatment of Rafa is not to be tolerated, ever at this club IMO.
Rafa, if you get out of this i say "well played".

Lets start winning trophies!!!

I just dont think they'd be that fussed about an extra £30m, if that's all that was obstructing them.Originally posted by tomasjj View PostAgree on the first part, also on the cultural issue on the second part, but I am unsure if the reason was money, honouring an agreement or a combination.
