I am sickened by this as I was by the so called fans and ooters who very aggressively shouted down those trying to demonstrate on Saturday. If those same people see these facts now, they should hang their heads in shame.

A separate issue perhaps but everyone uttterly pretty fed up with the fans who turn up at the match, spend 90 mins takin photos on their phone and tellin their mates in London on the phone that they’re in Liverpool at Anfield. It’s this type of ‘support’ from daytrippers that we all know is affecting larger campaigns of this nature.
Interesting stuff, but disturbing to see a slant against 'ooters' even at this early stage when the message is for Liverpool fans to come together to fight the yanks. Can't have it both ways.

Will there be a post code qualification for putting in £5000 or whatever amount ? Or will 'ooters' be expected to put in money but not turn up on a Saturday ?

This Rogan from Share Liverpool was on norwegian telly yesterday wanting norwegian supporters to buy shares.
Also saying things like if all members of the norwegian supp. club bought a share each, we'd own a quarter of all the shares.
So we are good enough then?

Arrgghhh as I said in a PM to another prolific poster on here I find it so frustrating hardly being able to do anything as proactive as this, being a London based supporter

Please don't take offence when I politely request that you shove that sentiment right up your arse (sideways) :whatever:

          Cheers Sinbad. Interesting stuff.

Rafa makes a great point re. supporting the players. It would be far better if, for the next televised game, everyone got there 20 minutes early to make their demonstrations, but stopped at the start of the game. The commentators WILL pick up on the fact that a full crowd has been protesting for 20 minutes, AND it won't affect the players. IMO.

"As I said, the best part of the meeting was hearing what this journalist – who most reds in Liverpool know and respect – had to say about the inner goings on at the moment. The bottom line is Hicks is shafting us, DIC are still very much at the negotiating table, Moores and Parry may have fcuked up but they know it and are trying to fix things and that the fans not supporting the demonstrations on Saturday have hurt the club by making Hicks complacent and making him take a tougher negotiating line with DIC."

So a big demo last Sunday and Hicks would have run off? Talk about a simplification. If life only was that simple, huh?

Like all hearsay he has tried to connect the dots and probably missed about 50%.

              Cheers for that Sinbad.

I'm from Liverpool but don't like the comments re OOTers - doesn't give a good impression of the people there to be the right ones for "deciding" the future of Liverpool, sounds like they could be blinkered. A bit hypocritical as they want DIC to save us?
If fans pay there hard earned money and want to video the match that's shown on the tele next day in full that's there miss.

A clubs email was intercepted - no saying it wasn't but there's a reason an email can't be used for official purposes. I i can't believe for one minute Hicks would of sold if the fans were still protesting, as he would already know it would esculate if things got worse.

This journo - unless his paper is stopping the story - don't know why he can't come public - if all this is going on and DIC will eventually come in its not like it would harm his future. Moores and co likewise should use him. Esp Moores what has he got to loose. Hicks wouldn't dare get rid cos even if the fans aint behind Moores they would see his a dissmisal as a catalyst to kick off.
For starters if he was to work with say DIC and Moores he could put pressure on the yanks and thererfore DIC could save money?

There was comments re that DIC might not be the knight in shinning armour - which is what a lot on here are saying - which is why i'm still in the lets see what happens with the yanks and there are still no concrete facts and rthat Dic wouldn't do it the same way. What's gone on doesn;t look good but doesn;t mean what's going to go on will be bad.
Its not like organisations can't start smear campains to get what they want.

Gillett seems like he could of been the owner we'd of gotten on with only if he had enough money and it was he who approached Moores. Can see why Moores thinks he was doing the right thing

Email is accepted in a court of law as evidence

Cheers Sinbad, ends the week on a bit of an up

****'s sake, he's risking his career, what motivation do you think he had for attending and speaking at that meeing? Jesus christ open your eyes.

How naive are you? By attending the meeting he's outing himself as someone who isn't impartial. His career would be effectively over. Like I said in a previous post, he's taking a huge risk, please explain what his motivation for doing that could possibly be?

****ing hell the stench of appeasment on this forum is overwhelming.

I'm just saying that it seems like idle speculation. Like everything else regarding this issue.

You think G&H will "asset-strip" LFC. I think it sounds a bit silly.

You think DIC is a knight in shining armour. I think they are neo-fascists with disregard for humanrights and just as bad as G&H.

I admire you commitment Tom and you have all my respect. I just don't think that we have all (if any) information needed to come anywhere near somekind of meaningful conclusion on the subject.

X-factors all over the place as it were.

Answer the question, what could this journalists motivation be for risking his career?

I'm not saying that he doesn't have the best interest of LFC at heart. I'm only saying that he doesn't necessarily have the full picture of what's going on. He has seen bits and parts of the puzzle and have made an effort to connect the dots.

Surely you will admit that there is a good chance that some of his interpretations of the current situation could be wrong?

I don't even think the people really close to the process, even working at Anfield, has the full picture tbh. Why would you expect that some journalist would have 20/20 vision on the subject?

Excuse me if I wait until summer before I make any hasty conclusions.
Agree that any suggestion of 'asset stripping' makes no sense. The burning question is whether they can be trusted to do right by the club. All the evidence (admittedly much of it rumour and conjecture) suggests not.

My point is doing nothing is potentially far more damaging than making our feelings known would be, regardless of their true intentions.

Even if everything 'seems' hunky dory (and there is a lot of 'smoke' to suggest it is not), what is to be lost by keeping the pressure on?
