I`m one of those fans that will buy anything LFC just for the novelty vale.I see ManU mousepads, eggcups, pintglasses, underwear etc....but just liverpool shirts. We are yrs behind ManU in Merchandising

We don`t make half the money ManU make in merchandising.it`s not all about seats in a stadium.

What about naming rites for the new stadium, sponsor of the shirt and executive boxes. That`s 5 great players bought right there.
It`s gonna happen but the Yanks bought us just before a credit crunch and a chinese economy driving up prices for everything due to a 1 Billion people demand on the world economy.

Well, I'm not sure I agree. We have plenty of merchandise out there. I know because I'll buy any old ****e from strips to mouse mats to mugs etc...

Any money generated from naming rights etc... would probably have to go towards the servicing of the huge debt. In the mean time the refinancing package that they're about to secure could quite potentially cripple the club.

You want to live in Dublin,20 odd miles from Liverpool.up until this season we had only shirts in most shops while tripping over ManU pensil boxes, shot glasses, duvet covers, footballs, the list is endless.Theyre marketing department wipes the floor with us.I feel another thread coming on.Mr Michael mighten be happy.

          Not a massive difference
There is talk that the Fed is going to cut interest rates in the States. . . .this would result in a further weakening of the dollar. I do not know what that will mean to the conversion rate or if that would affect G&H.

            MR HICKS

AS THE NEW CUSTODIAN OF OUR BELOEVED CLUB THAT HAS EXISTED FOR 100 YEARS OF GLORY - I NEED TO ASK:

            WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

WHY DID YOU UNDERMINE THE COACH IN PUBLIC?

WHY ARE YOU PUTTING THE DEBT BACK ON THE CLUB TO REFINANCE YOUR INITIAL LOAN.WHICH BY THE WAY,YOU PROMISED YOU WOULDNT DO.

THE FANS RIGHTLY OR WRONGLY HAVE LOST FAITH IN YOU.IN SAYING THAT THE FANS ARE THE TRUE OWNERS OF THE CLUB,WILL YOU SELL YOUR SHARE AS CUSTODIA TO SOMEONE WHO HAS THE FAITH OF THE FANS OR WHO MAY HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF GAINING THE FATIH OF THE FANS THAN YOURSELF.

THIS CLUB IS BIGGER THAN YOU AND I,AND YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO DO THE RIGHT THING BY THE CLUBAND ITS FANS.

EITHER BACK THE MANAGER BY SIGNING A NEW CONTRACT WITH HIM AND REFUSE TO SADDLE THE CLUB WITH YOUR PERSONAL DEBT OR RELINQUISH YOUR CLAIM TO CUSTODIANSHIP.

THE CLUB IS OUR LIFE, DONT MESS WITH IT.

Agree there is a great potential to increase our merchandising income.
But have you seen Hicks track record regarding other clubs his owned.
I've read most of the articles posted recently, and i've yet to find even one of his "sports franchise" that hasn't gone downhill since he took control.

I think we need to fly over a special envoy to Hicks office.

May I ask the following questions:
                          1. Is DIC still try to invest to us although the case is so complicated?
                          2. If Hick does not want to sell our beloved club ( no matter reason such as the price of DIC is not attractive or he does not want to sell), what can Mr. Morres do?
                          3. If Hick does not want to sell our beloved club, what can our fans do?

Thanks so much for anyone advice ( especially from Tom, Lecter and Rashid).

I wouldnt expect anyone to wade through all 26 pages of this thread with news reports seeming to contradict each other by the hour

so here is a brief resume:

Hicks & Gillette need to refinance the initial loan they took out to buy the club (this was originally £270 million but has now apparently risen to 320 million, they also want another 30 million to start work on the stadium)

the lenders RBS, are haggling over the terms of the refinancing asking H & G to throw in some of their personal assets to secure the loan, they seem reluctant to do this

Hicks wants to secure the debt against the clubs assets like Glazier did at the scum,(something they promised wouldnt happen)
Mores and Parry and possibly Gillette are unhappy with this scenario, and gillette may refuse to sign up for the new loan

Mores and/or Parry may have legal documentation that could prevent the debt being loaded onto the club

DIC are waiting in the wings and may................buy out H & G, or just Hicks, or bankroll Gillette to buy out hicks ( there may be a first option thingee between them)

There has also been speculation that DIC have already tabled an offer or that a deal exists in principal

some have claimed that something will happen in the next 48 hours or by 18th or feb........................or might not

there ya go 26 pages summarised in a few lines

this is by no means comprehensive just a general sumary
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

You forgot to mention that nothing can really happen before Tuesday. The banks are closed in America on Monday. Looks like Tuesday is the deadline day.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
