Would it not be more likely to feature on the business news?

But isn't one of them a manc, named his horses after Rooney, Ronaldo, etc?

Right now I'd take a non-red businessman who'd run the club properly and let the footballing people get on with it.

Hopefully the DIC people will do this and it'll be beneficial for them and for us.

But I really don't get all this clamouring for them, admittedly they have much, much more financial clout than the Americans, but what if they come in and sack Rafa right away?
I wonder how people will react if they did something like that?

As I say I'm happy the Americans might be going, but I certainly don't see the Arabs as some sort of saviour.
I said that the other day and got told not to pour cold water over everyone. I think they will want someone else in if they took over, someone like Maureen.

Maybe it could be mentioned in the official language and not english, or in the business part of the news. Or even a longer edition of the sports news etc.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

DIC exist for one purpose and that is to make money. now that oil money is going away and some say already gone, they need to create money to uphold it's society. thats what DIC is all about. and with the west not investing as much as they had hoped for in dubai the pressure is even more on dic to make profits on what they are doing..

Well said Diego. It amazes me that people really think that they know how DIC will conduct their business yet they have never met them or conducted business with them. Granted the people behind DIC don't settle for second best but Abramovich they aren't. They are professional businessmen. The difference is these are frm the middle east whose main interest is horse racing instead of ice hockey.

To be fair though mate, you cant claim that people dont know DIC and therefore dont know what they are or arent....and then tell us yourself what they are or arent

Just went through the archives and found the thread when some of us lost our minds when Parry pulled the plug on the DIC bid. It's a real eye opener.

I tried bumping it up but I think its locked. Check it out...'DIC have pulled out'.

Can any of the mods bump it up?

Just to add to that a little Al.
They are also interested in raising the profile of the Arab Nations. I would not be surprised to see them spend big if they too control of Liverpool. They would be looking at the longer term, and would be prepared to invest to get a return years down the line. Football is the bigest sport in the world. With Arsenal, Man U & chalsea already seemingly either tied up, or being on their way to being tied up, and us playing in the most popular footbal division in the world.

I may get shot down here, but i am sure there was/is an English law regarding staffing situations during and after take-overs. I think it comes under the title "Transfer of undertaking", and basically states that new owners HAVE to give the inherited staff 6 months continued employment before they can legally get rid. I was subjected to it several years ago and remember being given a government booklet on my rights by the outgoing directors.

Don't you think certain people would be gushing it out if they'd met / worked with them?

All I know having been in the same dinnerhall as them and met the Shiekh's brother Hamdam is that they love racing and never fecking mentioned Liverpool once......although this was 15+ years ago

DIC have no experience of running a PL club. Thus there is no basis for such a 'revelation' that they will spend spend spend. People are having their hopes raised unnecessarily by silly comments and ill informed judgements.

A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
