It's a nice thought, but it ain't going to happen.
I read a article that had quotes from Hicks saying a few months back the reason he bought into LFC was because there where "Loads a Money" to be made from the Asian Market.

The Texan Tossers going no where, not for now any how.
On awaiting Everton's arrival for a derby game at Anfield, Bill Shankly gave a box of toilet rolls to the doorman and said: "Give them these when they arrive – they'll need them!"

suspect this has been asked before but not sure ..... can DIC go direct to the banks and make an offer that's better than what G&H are asking for? i.e. can DIC make the banks think they'd rather not give a loan, and then own the club as G&H need it or they'll lose the club, essentially leaving the bank holding the club with DIC ready in the wings with a big cheque?

I understand that mate but me even mentioning this is due to a quote from one of the articles about the London office. I didn't make any claim as to what went on in London.

Banks exist to make money - if the figures stack up with regards the loan G&H are after the Bank will also obviously make money on the back of it and will not give a **** who they are lending to.

                Dic= client

                Client in London?

Bank travels to meet client, not the opposite.

Well with the ever growing market over there and there love of the Premier League. TV Deals and Merchandise over the next few years should see both Hicks and Gillett get a decent return. IMO

if it was true maybe the meeting was in london because they had other business to take care of there.

the company i work for owns the premier league rights for most of asia- we paid approx 500m US for the rights last time around.

and with more tv stations opening up around the region it will be even more next time around.

we currently have around 220 million subscribers- and around 500 million viewers for big premier league games

"At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques"

and to give you an example.

1% of china is 12 million people

1% of india is around 10 million people

if you could get 1% of each population to spend 50p a week on liverpool mobile or internet content then the 350 million debt won't be a debt for long.

i expect this is what the americans are thinking anyway

But they will be taking into account the fact that popularity will be directly linked to success and promotion of the brand (through high-profile European competition and exposure), and whether they will be able to sustain the club in this respect is an issue which I am sure will be considering.

There are pros and cons on both sides for the Americans. I just hope to God they see the cons outweighing the pros.

Right, I think they are gone.
Hicks & Gillett's working situation at Liverpool is now unworkable. None of their sons will be able to come to Liverpool and work in peace, and neither of them will be able to come to Liverpool to even watch a game.
Only a matter of time now. I am sure both Gillett and Hicks realise this.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                            * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

                              I don't think so mate.

I think they believe we will forgive and forget.

They clearly think we are thick dumb soccer fans the way they treated us and our club over the past 6 months. I really believe they think it will all blow over and they will try and squeeze every last penny from us.

                              These yanks aren't going anywhere.
**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.
