The other secanrio would have been G + H defaulting on the initial loan and RBS taking over if they werent able to get the new refinancing.
Aye, I understood that bit already ta.

I should have added that we are not gonna be strongly cash-generative until we get a new stadium & much better marketing, therefore in the short term Hicks aint gonna get more than the £50m or whatever he would have got from the initial alleged amount he would get from selling to DIC.

What I'm suggesting/asking is that Hicks is gonna still need to sell, but has simply bought himself more time to bargain to get the best deal. The fact the loan has been accepted shouldn't be a huge negative for DIC.
    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

We know they need to have finance in place to meet the upcoming deadline in 2 weeks or less.

Any takeover would take longer than that time frame to complete.

Perhaps their new finance deal is merely an irrelevance in the scheme of a move towards a DIC takeover. Particularly when you look at the proposed structure outlined in the Echo article? The numbers look favourable to all parties.

The only reason why a takeover after the refinance would be appealing to DIC is that to the naked eye it would seem as if they bought the club for less and would mean they'd save face. There was talk that they didn't want to pay OTT as it would affect future deals they made as sellers would try and take advantage.

Skillz mentioned it last night; if the yanks wanted a profit of £100m then DIC would have to pay them £398m (£298m to cover the RBS loan and £100m profit) for their shares in kop football ltd where as after the refinance they'd only be paying £290m (£190m of the new loan and £100m profit) for the shares in kop football ltd however they'd take on the £105m loan secured against the club. The actual value of the offer would be no different but it would appear as if they were paying less.

From what i have heard the DIC informal offer/discussion were no where near giving Hicks a £50 million profit.

The only issue would have been that the loan could have been better terms with DIC and than taken out by G + H but in my opinion thats not a huge negative

The issue to me is whether DIC will the americans the profit they want now they are more secure.

That's a very well thought out point but I think it's clutching at straws quite a bit.

Its not that great a point. Im sure that any future sellers to DIC would be able to work it out that the club actually cost them more.

Bit off topic here guys, I was just wondering when or IF the new stadium gets built, will it have capacity to be increased to say 80,000 or so or is it going to be capped at 70 thou max?

has this turned into the most pointless thread?have we had any proof that DIC are or had any talks in the last week?i haven't seen anything of substance to back the rumours up.yes we know they haven't denied the rumours but also they haven't confirmed the rumour maybe the reason for the silence from DIC is simple they have no interest in the club and its possibly company policy not too comment on rumours either to confirm or deny.the only comment we've had is from hicks and thats to deny any talks with DIC and to state he has no plans to sell, yet we still get rumours of DIC,with as i say no sign of proof of their interest.
                      who's arsed?

Yes, but with the £105m secured loan on the club they only need to take on Kop Holdings debt. I realise it's ****ing around with numbers, but the structure might just be more appealing.

In effect the yanks would get a load of money for restructuring the club in a (financially) appealing and efficient (from a PE stance) way.
