It strikes me that anyone buying the club with 105 million worth of loan attatched would effectively, on purchase, provide the loanee with 105 million worth of profit...

The only reason why a takeover after the refinance would be appealing to DIC is that to the naked eye it would seem as if they bought the club for less and would mean they'd save face. There was talk that they didn't want to pay OTT as it would affect future deals they made as sellers would try and take advantage.

Skillz mentioned it last night; if the yanks wanted a profit of £100m then DIC would have to pay them £398m (£298m to cover the RBS loan and £100m profit) for their shares in kop football ltd where as after the refinance they'd only be paying £290m (£190m of the new loan and £100m profit) for the shares in kop football ltd however they'd take on the £105m loan secured against the club. The actual value of the offer would be no different but it would appear as if they were paying less.

That's a very well thought out point but I think it's clutching at straws quite a bit.

DIC won't be biuying the club anytime soon. I' bet G&H's valuation of the club has rocketed now their finances are arranged, anyone who is inclined to meet that valaution would have to be crazy.

And that means Rafa's a goner. End of the season G&H will move him on and they'll bring in a novice manager who'll be so overwhelmed and star-struck at getting the Liverpool job despite his limited experience that he wont care that he's got no money to spend. We're a ****ing mess.

Before anybody gets too down in the dumps and gives up hope of a possible takeover, just think about this.....

With this new loan there will be repayments of in the region of £40m per year and these repayments will have to come from G&H personally as untill the ground is ready we're not going to make any money. G&H have already proven that they're unwilling to put their hands in their own pockets and if the reports are to be believed Gillett in particular has had difficulties raising the small amount of cash needed to secure the loan.

Im pretty confident that G&H aren't cash rich enough to meet these repayments for a sustained period and even if they were i don't think they'd be willing to put much of their own cash into the club. Its clear with whats gone on of late that they're open to a sale and imo all the refinance has done is given them more time to negotiate a better deal for themselves.
