If we're going to have a thread about this bashing one of our players after a defeat then why not single a few more players out for criticisim? Gerrard for his missed sitter and his blast over the bar when the best thing was to pass? Kuyt for hitting the bar when it was easier to score?

Try and be a bit moreobjective rather than just starting a witch hunt and using phrses like "noting more than a waste of skin." and "never puit a decent cross in all day."

He was by no means superb today but he was far from being our worst player. The criticism he's getting is a tad unfair IMHO.

If you're looking at Pennant's game I think the main thing he did wrong was to keep coming in, rather than stick to the wing and outrun the opposition.

I think also the team set up meant that almost every ball went out to Pennant, not the other wing, so he was easily picked out.

Perhaps if Gonzales had been on the other wing, the play would have been stretched more and we could have had a better chance of getting the ball into the forwards.

Pennant was absolutely **** today. He had time, acres of space, and saw plenty of the ball today yet produced one half-decent cross. He will come good for us in time though.

Who was worse than him? Given the amount of the ball he saw, who was worse? If he was putting in decent crosses all day then no one could moan.

In retrospect, having read this thread through, I've come to the conclusion that this thread and some of the comments in it are an absolute disgrace.

Where does this myth come from that Liverpool fans are the most supportive fans in the world? Absolute bull**** if you read this thread. Forget backing one of our own, let's just pick the most obvious target and stick the knife in and twist it a little.

No one said dont criticise a player, but I dont see how comments like "waste of skin" etc is constructive criticism
