What do you have to say about Crouch now?

Yes he's a better option up front than Kuyt but ffs even Rush in his old age is better than the both of them! Crouch cost us the 3 points - end of, he missed at least 1 blatant opportunity which for a pro footballer should have been taken. Also the only reason he's a better option than Kuyt is because of the uncertainty he creates amongst opposition defenders & not because of his ability. Our strikers (bar Torres of course) are just not good enough for our beloved Liverpool & we could easily get at least 15 million for the 3 in the summer (Crouch 8 million, Kuyt 5 million & Voronin 3 million), and then cough up 10 million & buy Berbatov. That is the ONLY way we are gonna compete with the top 3, we have to start spending big like they do.
ANelka cost Chelski 15 million ffs when we paid 10 million for Kuyt, now who's better value for money I ask you?!! And I'm not blaming Rafa because he doesn't have much of a budget so he has to go out & buy risky "maybe" sort of players for 7 to 10 million pounds. Manure spent 60 million pounds in the summer on 3 players ffs, how are we meant to compete with that I ask u?!
    Rant over...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

berbatov for 10m??? or do you mean £10m plus the money we get for the other three?

Anelka wasn't that good today either.

Oh crikey. I'm not sure how ranting is quite necessary.

Quite flagrantly we could do with some better striking options, and Crouch didn't have the very best of games, but that was never a match for glorious attacking play... and if it had been we would probably have been beaten.

We were the better side today imo, at one of the hardest places to go in the country. In general, I thought we did "compete with that" today... and I didn't particularly notice Anelka scoring either

Crouch worked hard and was involved in every attack. His finishing let him down but i wouldnt say he deserves to be slated. He always looked for the ball and maybe had Torres been supporting him he might have scored and won it for us.

Atleast he looked capable of doing something, twice the treath of Crouch and Kuyt combined

yet crouch had better chances and was there for a bigger threat...

Well, Kuyt gets slated, and even he works hard and looks for the ball, so why shouldnt Crouch?

A striker playing for Liverpool should be alot more than hardworking and willing.

I don't see the point of this thread, we all know we need better striking options and should be generally accepted that Crouch is better than Kuyt so I really don't get it.

Well, he didnt really create anything himself did he?
Should he get credit for missing chances?

Crouch is a good option to have in the squad, the way he is used by Rafa is fine too IF we had other quality strikers who could put the ball in the back of the net. Today he had some chances which on the whole were difficult, nothing clear cut, it was just that type of game - Crap.

For Me my 4 strikers would be:

                      Torres
Aguero type (as in a proper skilful second striker a playmaker if you must)
                      Crouch
                      A Young Other goal machine.
                      We come not to play.

the only thing that bothers me about Crouch, is that he concedes too many silly freekicks.

Indeed. And Kuyt put in some excellent balls first half, I thought he did a stirling job out on the right, and in the context of the game, was a threat.

We all know that Voronin, Kuyt and to a lesser extent, Crouch, are not looking like the long-term solutions for us, but that's what we've got for the rest of the season and its about time we got behind them a little, especially when overall, we looked like a decent team today.

Crouch led the line on his own today and did well. He posed more of a threat than their lone striker Anelka.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Kuyt gets slated mostly because he doesnt even get shots in on goal.

Crouch however does actually attack the ball and shoot. He was unfortunate not to score today. I slated Crouch for his lack of effort against Havant but he tried hard today and should have scored. Kuyt worked hard and did a good job playing in Midfield today
