Yes he's a better option up front than Kuyt but ffs even Rush in his old age is better than the both of them! Crouch cost us the 3 points - end of, he missed at least 1 blatant opportunity which for a pro footballer should have been taken. ..

Noone expects Crouch to score bag fulls. He'll get hs fair share though and it's what he does for our all round play that makes him a valuable asset. Actually, John Terry summed him up pretty well yesterday. He obviously doesn't enjoy playing against him as I doubt any defender does so this about sums it up. Torres off Crouch is or will be if it's used (!) a hugely effective partnership

The strength in depth of Chelseas squad means that even without a few of their best players, they still are a very formidable side.

Taking points off any of the top 3 away from home is a good result in my opinion.

I would play Crouch up front more often but if he is not going to get a decent run in the side then we should sell him and blow the £7m on someone else who has a chance (although Beni seems to get as many right as wrong!)

one game would never change my opinion of a player, whether it be someone good having an off day, or someone cack having a good day.

i agree that we have to start buying proven quality though, but i'm not sure why this thread is couched in terms of attacking crouch, when the real point of the thread is that we need to buy another forward in torres' class.

indeed. as i can recall crouch had a decent chance but a couple of mere half chances. he's still the best we have when torres isn't about.
