well I dont think she could do any worse than our current incumbents, would be a lot easier on the eye. also these City women are ****ing ruthless and usually excellent at their jobs. If she wasnt up to it then I'm certain DIC would not have taken a sniff at her.Originally posted by tepid water View PostHow can you say that? You haven't got a clue other than reading that article!
We missed the boat at the formation of the premiership, same with Villa/Spurs/Everton/Forest etc But that is gone, nothing we can do about that now. Wwe still haven't caught it yet.
Neither of these clubs relied on huge outside investment. They bought well, capitalised on their popularity and were winning things. That is the sustainable route to success that doesn't involve selling your soul like the chavs.
We weren't happy to wait, we wanted the league now, a new stadium now blah blah. All we need is merchandise in the club shop and out in the streets. That is where our underperformance is killing us. That's Parry's fault and Moores mistake is not sacking him quick enough, loyalty has always been his failing. If you ask any foreigner to come and dump a few hundred million, he'll want it back with interest. You realy think DIC will be any different? Moores was of the Liverpool way, a way that hadn't evolved at all, but at its centre is what's needed for sustained success. Patience, loyalty and a focuss on football. We will never get that back.
I blame the internet.

But we didn't either get a bonus for making the takeover happening. Some reports were saying Parry got a 500.000 bonus for making the Yank takeover happen. I'm sure someone else remembers that as well.Originally posted by kopdan View Postbut nobody on here did any research either did they
Dont recall seeing anyone pointing any of this out.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

THE future of one of the world’s greatest football clubs hangs in the balance today.
Liverpool FC is at the centre of a wicked tug-of-war with American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett, in the eyes of fans, wanting a huge fortune to release it from their grasp.
Yesterday the two Americans, who are at loggerheads with each other, were offered a generous profit of £25m each on their year-old investment by Dubai Investment Capital.
With the pair so divided, there is surely no way now they can ever repair the damage between themselves, and at Anfield, and continue at the helm.
Late last night, DIC sources say the pay-off offer to Gillett, was increased to a staggering £80m. Yet, once again, he has rejected it.
It seems Liverpool FC is nothing more than a crude bargaining chip on the roulette table of high commerce, while the fans who love the club can only look on helpless.
Business may be business but both men, Gillett in particular, today stand to make such an enormous personal fortune from Anfield that it almost beggars belief they should decline.
These men must no longer stand in the way of a solution to this crisis.
They’ve been offered a fortune by the Dubaians to step aside. And they have a moral obligation to accept.
Common decency demands an end to this unedifying episode today.
The dollars are on the table for Hicks and Gillett, but it is the dreams of thousands of loyal fans which they hold in their hands.
ok maybe it is a bit pro liverpool coming from the Echo, but I think it does sum up the situation perfectly. The Club and the Fans are just pawns being pushed around a boardroom table. The sooner Hicks and Gillet realsie this (actually may just be Hicks) the better.

By jove I think you've got it.Originally posted by Lecter View PostYesterday £400 million bid was quoted with £25 million profit for each
If Gillett has turned down an £80 million profit then the total takeover bid stands at £510 million thats a bloody big jump
Doesnt make sense imo and in fact if you read Barretts piece it says Gillett sees the profit as only £40 million which would mean total takeover cost stands at £430 million
Barrett can only print what hes given by his sources, his article today is PR imo. Its designed to show one of the parties in a bad light and to provoke a reaction from the fans. Who would stand to gain from that??
Answer that question and you will know why the article doesnt stand up to scrutiny particularly in terms of the £80 million profit each figureI have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

lol, Moores dosen't even own the club, but still his responsibility to fix things? We as a group wanted him out, he sold (At a bargain price) because we* were calling for his head. We* wanted a huge capital investment, not a steady improvement of our systems that might take 5 years to turn around and we* didn't have the patience or confidence to wait. We* wanted to be like chavski and now we* are.
You can take that as an insult if you like, I say it as a warning to impulsive thinking and actions as a reminder of our core values and the danger of ttossing them aside for the latest fad. How exactly are Leeds doing these days? They won a premiership and got to a CL semi-final, perhaps we should copy them too?
*I say we, mostly the younger generation who it seems take offence at my criticisms of their impatience. There were plenty of us sticking up for Moores while calling for Parry's head."that is my opinion and that is more important than what anyone else has to say about it" - Mr A.Fergusson, Oct 2011

Yes we were frustrated, yes many wanted moores out.....but it was no warcry. we were frustrated of course we were. But to defend moores is defending the indefincible. regardless for whatever reason, he sold us down the river maybe not by accident, but his **** up nobody else has landed us in the **** we find ourselves.....so waht if he doesnt own the club now, he is a fan and he should man up stick his hand in his pocket and bail us out of the **** HE created._____________________________________
