Especially one in the face for Dirks critics because he has took some stick which is bang out of order especially since he played on both wings tonight and produced the goods unlike ryan babel who everyone raves about

Let's face it when people saw Pennant coming on, I suspect the majority thought Kuyt would (should) be coming off.

He was immense defensively - he held his position all the time, funnelled back quickly all the time and harried as usual - but in attacking sense he wasn't very good. He's never gonna be a world beater cos he's so limited technically and has zero pace, but he got his goal and we're all elated with him. Well in Dirk.

In direct contrast to last season and this term's Premiership, his record in Europe this season is actually okay - some important goals.....tonight, Porto away and Marseille away.

Thought it was a 7/10 performance but that's a marked improvement on the 4s and 5s of the last few months and he seems to be coming back into some kind of form. If this goal doesn't lift him, nothing will.
