He was a really good player in what was a terrible team at the time.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I know we want to forget that we signed him, but I didn't realise Andy Carroll was now at Reading, scored for them today apparentlyThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The great transfer inflation is the best thing to have happened as far as that transfer is concerned.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI know we want to forget that we signed him, but I didn't realise Andy Carroll was now at Reading, scored for them today apparently
£35m sounds like a reasonable punt in today's transfer market. Was muß, das muß.

I think he signed this month. Was a free agent so not constrained by the transfer window.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI know we want to forget that we signed him, but I didn't realise Andy Carroll was now at Reading, scored for them today apparentlyFootball without Origi is nothing

Well, interestingly they played him uptop, rather than as often in the past as on the right of the two in a 4-3-2-1. His strength is his finishing; his weakness was (I don't know now because I haven't seen him play for so long) was his link-up play, so uptop ought to suit him.Originally posted by SB View Post

Yip had just seen that alright..... he is like Ray Clemence in that he is such a LFC legend that you almost forget that he played for another big club as well.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostDeserves more than to be stuffed into this thread but there's reports Ray Kennedy has died.

Ray Kennedy won the double for Arsenal before joining LFC.
