But you're assuming he would get into those teams. Arse (Van Persie, Adebayor), Chelsea (Drogba, Anelka) and Utd (Rooney and one other from Tevez, Saha etc.) already have at least two top quality strikers - we have one (although I have a soft spot for Crouchie). We have space for another one - it isn't Voronin, Kuyt or Crouch to be honest.

What for 2 games a year?

I've got no idea what Rafa will do as far as Strikers go in the market. I have no doubt he knows what he wants to do though.

We need better wingers and fullbacks more than anything, IMO. Considering what we could get from sales we do not need a "war chest" IMO. Unless we go after Aguero or the like.

I agree with all that. We are close now, we should not be making big changes to the squad - if anything we should be letting go a few players and replacing them with the best of our youngsters. I'd like to see one top quality wide midfielder come in (I'll let AFII determine who), and of course bring in any top youngsters identified. If we avoid the disruptions of this season ... and our core players can remain relatively injury-free then I see grounds for optimism.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Who are you thinking of buying? Because i imagine it's someone already AT a top club (not necessarily in the PL) and playing plenty of games.

I think people have forgotten about Rafa's rotating tendency because he has stuck with the same team pretty much for 3/4 games. It's March and the crunch time of the season. Before Xmas he did it all the time.

Out of 60 games, torres will easily play 40.

No top striker's gonna be happy with 20-25 games.

Possibly - although all the top teams rotate so I'm not sure they'd be much worse off at LFC. The other possibility is an up and coming striker who plays just outside the top clubs (Portugal, Germany, Holland etc.) or for a Spanish/Italian team just outside the top tier (like..er....Torres).

How many times did he "rotate" Torres, SG, Reina, Masher, Alonso, Carra bar injury.

I have to go to bed so I will give you a hint, **** ALL.

A top striker at a top club will play 40 games each season, easily.

Why would they swap that to play 20-25 for LFC?

I suggest we offer our souls to the scum for Rooney and Ronaldo.

                      We'd walk the league.

Because we are Liverpool and the player in question may be hungry, ambitious and want to suceed and win things just like Torres was before he joined us.

You're assuming that this World-Class striker and Torres don't play at the same time, which assumes we keep this "new" formation.

If Torres is bullet-proof and we don't change formation, then attracting a truly top talent as a Torres-understudy will be difficult; but I reckon there is plenty of games out there to satisfy Torres AND another class striker.

                              we need to spend -

                              Alves/Richards - £20mill
                              Left back - £10-£15 mill
                              Wingers - £30 -£40 mill
World class striker - £20 mill

Total - max of £95 mill without bringing sales into the equation, lets say a net of £45-£60mill.

That is if we are going to buy the best as opposed to more squad players.

Well yes, i am. It was Rafa's preferred formation at Valencia and everything is gearing towards him keeping it for most of our games too.
