Liverpool v Arsenal isn't the same draw as Arsenal v Liverpool - which is what you're claiming.

So for a 2 team draw there are 2 permutations.

4 team draw there are 12 permutations. (You'd claim there were 3?)

6 team draw there are 240 permutations (You'd claim 15?)

    and so on....

As far as I understand it, not only did this poster get the draw right, he called how they came out of the hat right too....

    NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Look at what the guy posted dude

He doesn't even name the last game, its just assumed. He does not get them right as out of the hat. That would be different odds, and unlikely even if it was a fix given how such info would be disseminated.

Seriously, The odds in this situation are basically 100/1.

You can take any other club as the starting point, its irrelevant, there are then 7 other teams you can put with them. Then you take another, there's 5, and so on.

So the independant odds of someone correctly calling all 4 ties (if the home and away bit is irrelevant) are 7 x 5 x 3 x 1.

Not only did he name the pairings. He named them in the same order they came out.

I got an Elvis Presley on this one

You're right, of course - I would tend to believe that a little bit more though if there were a few other threads claiming to know the draw in advance that got it wrong.

It just smells a bit fishy - one thread, one guess, absolutely spot on.
