What do we need in the summer?

I don't really think we should be in this position after 4 years to be honest. Rafa has had a job to do, but I really do think he's spent to much building the squad compared to bringing in class. He's got the wrong balance IMO but hopefully, now he's got the squad, he can add the cream?
"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."
I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

**** off.Originally posted by bigfooty View PostAround Europe stats demonstrate in the big leagues that managers who win titles with new clubs do so in the first 3 seasons of joining them. Certainly since the turn of the millenium the 36 titles that have been won by teams in Italy, Spain, England and Germany only one was picked up by a manager that had been at his club longer than 3 years without winning the title.
We need a manager who will over-achieve with us in the league, perhaps at the expense of Europe if that is what it takes. We need a manager who has a favourite word that isn't "compact".
give Rafa proper money.
look what he's achieved with no money.
you mention where we've finished in the league, and i'll ****t ya.
jees, some people.Reece, get off my wife.:whatever:

If you don't think rafa isn't the best manager that we've had in the last 10 years, then please, go see a brain surgeon.
Ok, I'll play the game, get rid of Rafa, and get.......................?
What he's done for us over the last 3 or so years is nothing short of a miracle.
Remember what it was like without him?
Remember the players we had before him?
Pur-lease, do me a favour.Reece, get off my wife.:whatever:

Errrr you gave the game away in your question... how many managers could lead us to the title against two clubs with far more resources????Originally posted by bigfooty View PostPlease give me your reasons as to how Rafa has demonstrated in the past 4 years that he can lead us to the title against two clubs with far more resources?
Can you show me where he's over-achieved in the league in the last 2 seasons?
Cup games yes - a season no. That's not Rafa's fault. Back him 120% then watch us challenge properly.

so, you're sayiong we've not moved on fron Houllier then?Originally posted by rage View Posthe's had plenty of money. he'll have one more season or else i think.
no more squadies and time to clear out riise, pennant, kuyt crouch, carson. augero money right there
so, again, who would you replace him with, and do you know, that with the money DIC will give us, would the new manager do any better that Rafa's done?
He's brought ****ing quality with the money he's been give.
Alonso, Agger - yep they're ****e players, and when they've given him money, he's brought Mascher and Torres.
Some people on here, make me ****ing laugh.

I can't tell you how many more managers, but I can tell you that it's possible.Originally posted by SERVO2 View PostErrrr you gave the game away in your question... how many managers could lead us to the title against two clubs with far more resources????

After all, we hired Rafa because he did just that at Valencia. No?
Sadly it does not appear as if he is capable of transferring that to Premiership, mainly because teams here are not as soft-centered as Real Madrid and Barcleona have an alarming capability to be at times.

I think we need stability Rafa is building the team that he wants, the last thing we need is to get fed up bring someone else in with a 3-5year plan etc.Originally posted by bigfooty View PostAround Europe stats demonstrate in the big leagues that managers who win titles with new clubs do so in the first 3 seasons of joining them. From those stats though the 36 titles I'd imagine the majority were won by clubs that spent big money on big name players (Man Utd, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter etc) the exception probably being the German league as there isn't as much money floating around thereThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
