Do you really have to ask? the Yanks aren't taking any profits out of the club right now anyway - it's an investment they'll only see a return on if and when they come to selling it. So **** like this only really hurts the club, because right now that revenue is most likely to be re-invested in the club, especially at this time of year...and even if it was used to service some of the debt, that's still money that could have gone on new players instead. See?"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

Like it or not, the Yanks are part of the club and if we want to hurt them, we may have to hurt the club.Originally posted by Fiddy View PostDo you really have to ask? the Yanks aren't taking any profits out of the club right now anyway - it's an investment they'll only see a return on if and when they come to selling it. It depends how far you are prepared to go.
At one extreme there is Johnny who doesn't see a problem and will do nothing and at the other extreme are those who want Hicks and Gillett out at all costs and will boycott anything and everything to do with the club.
I won't be buying the new shirt because even though I don't know if it will make a difference, at least I know I'm not helping them.
If replica shirt sales are low enough, Adidas and Carlsberg will want to renegotiate or pull out and that is going to make refinancing more difficult for the Yanks. It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

And you think this would attract a new kit manufacturer and sponsor in the future? If this kind of thing does happen as a company looking to invest in some kind of sports entity in order to get my brand seen I'd give Liverpool a wide berth.Originally posted by Alpha View PostIf replica shirt sales are low enough, Adidas and Carlsberg will want to renegotiate or pull out and that is going to make refinancing more difficult for the Yanks.Winning an argument on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win you are still a retard!

Totally disagree.Originally posted by Shanks007 View PostI think it's a really bad idea to be honest.
Are these same people gonna stop paying for a match ticket to go to the game,
because it would be slightly hypocritical if not.
Stop buying food and drink at half time aswell while your at it.
Load of bollocks.
The way I see it this is the only way the average supporter can make an impact. Less money in will be a disaster for Hicks, espesially when the banks learn of any kind of boycott.
As I see it people should go to the matches and support the team, but buy as little as possible. The club will suffer from this short term, but the way I see it the possible long term damage Hicks can do will be so big it has to be done.
Having said this it`s prabably a lot easier for me, not being from Liverpool, but I`ve still used a fair amount of money on the club.Blank

Lets never buy anything ever again, with an LFC badge or mark on it. That way they will definately get the message, imagine no season ticket sales, no match day ticket sales, no merchandise, chase away the sponsore etc and whoopie, no Yanks.... (And no club)Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

If it`s made clear that the boycott is linked to the current owners there will be no problem getting sponsorship in with new owners. There is also a big chance that current sponsors will stay with new owners in because they will be tied to the old ones if the leave.Originally posted by Gazmo1 View PostAnd you think this would attract a new kit manufacturer and sponsor in the future? Some would say that's a risk worth taking if it helps remove the owners.Originally posted by Gazmo1 View PostAnd you think this would attract a new kit manufacturer and sponsor in the future? Unfortunately, all protests so far have amounted to a bit of negative PR for G & H and **** all where it really matters.
If DIC lose patience, scorched earth tactics are the only way to force the issue. Obviously not everybody will have the stomach for it.It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

Its cringeworthy that some of you guys think we cannot make a difference. And even worse than that shoot down those who are at least willing to make an effort be that in any small way.
Of course reduced revenue will have an effect on the yanks, how could it not? They will have all sorts of forecasts based on future sales, hell they probably use these when trying to re-negotiate our debt, and as such if sales have recently fallen through the floor then they wont be able to do that, at least as easy.
So please spare me the deluded, never going to make a difference comments as its all about personal opinions and choices. Im not telling you to boycott anything, just saying I will be. And im sure the initial post was just attempting to get some fans on the boycott wagon as to make things slightly more difficult for the yanks to **** up our club even more than it is.
