How do you explain that to a 9 year old kid who want's Torres or Stevie on the back.

Not enough Adults buy replica shirts for it to have an impact and it would have to go all the way to Jnr's and Infants.

Good luck to all the parents out there in telling their kids this.

I can't believe that some people are wanting the club to suffer.
Should these people also not buy any food or drink while they are there aswell.

How about snubbing Carlsberg lager instead.

You have some good points, that`s why I said it might be easier for me living in Norway.
I don`t go to matches and my kids are to young to care about football shirts.
I don`t want the club to suffer, but I think it`s the only way the average fan can impact whats going on. Sometimes you have to make a short-term sacrifice to improve your long term chances, and I think this is one of these situations.
This way I belive I`m making a very small contribution to help the situation, if you have a better way I`m more than happy to try that as well.

We all own a shirt....just wear that one for now, i don't see it as a real sacrifice for an adult to make, different for the kids, why the rush for the 'new' shirt', we all probably own many shirts in the clubs colours, just go retro for a season, send a message, not necessarily to Hicks, but to anyone who would consider backing him with loans or silent partnership now or in the future.

But I like the new one and I want to have Torres on my back.

This idea came from RAWK and i agree with it.

I wont be buying anything liverpool related - tickets, kit, merchandise, setanta sports, e-season ticket etc... until hicks has gone.

The more people do it the better as hicks only looks at the numbers. He's not bothered that he's the most hated man amongst liverpool fans but he will take note if merchandise / ticket sales are not in line with expectation.

Things are so tight at liverpool that every little helps

And so will the institutions that he tries to get loans from.

So tell me, fans wearing the new shirt will be seen as supporting G&H?? I hope not!!

I don't agree with any such boycott because the shirt is beautiful - however if it was made by Reebok I would have supported the boycott.

                      Of course not.
I think that a boycott will help the club long term, others don`t. It doesn`t mean that your any more/lesser fan or supports G&H of you buy the shirt.
But I have my views and will try to get others to see it my way, as anyone that cares would.

at least your doing it properly, so fair play to you!
but, imho, the only one your hurting is you and only you.

i'm of the opinion that i support the club and the club only. i think there is no way that i could influence any decision whatsoever that is being made at board room level. those things will sort themselves out eventually.
if - and that a big if - merchandise sales went down heavily it would only cause potential sponsor to think twice before negotiating a deal with the club. once you aquire a reputation as an unstable business partner you won't get rid of it for years to come...

While I'm sure people have the best intentions, I do think they are a bit wet behind the ears. Unless there is a mass movement, there won't be an impact. If there is a major boycot, it will damage the club for the long haul.

Sometimes it's important to acknowledge what battles you can/can't win. All we can do is make it clear how much we want Hicks gone. Other than that, we are powerless and shouldn't kid ourselves otherwise imo. It will play out one way or another and little old me will play no part in it ultimately. (btw, you're all as insignificant as me, if not more so)

I agree that this has to be done by a fair amount of people to make an impact, but that is what this thread is about, getting more people to join in.
As for the impact of a boycott I belive that G&H will cause greater long term damage than a boycott ever will. If companys know that the business will come back with worthy owners they will come to club.

Signed, adverse publicity for G&H will make it harder to refinance.

If nobody bought the kit then Hicks sells then everyone buys what they intended the club would still have the money just at a later date, no?
