Yes he can eat when it's dark, unlike mogwais.

However, like i said water would be my main concern. Their allowed nothing, not even sweets (i remember girls fasting for a day in my school for charidee - they ate nothing but barley sweets all day, seemed like cheating to me).

Can someone look up whether he played during this part of the season last year?

Agreed, the re-hydration must be a real problem.

Just had a quick look and it looks like he only made the bench a few times, this was however only early on in his LFC career and there could be a multitude of other reasons as to why he didn't play.

Ok he plays up to Ramadan, and then gets dropped all of a sudden. If he's not playing On Wednesday we'll know what's up.
EDIT - just had a look he played 3/5 nothing to concern ourselves with. Besides, i think he could do with a bit of a rest anyway. Though i reckon we need his presence against the bully boys of Bolton.

Well done for bringing this up Tom. Can imagine the club would not want to be too vocal on this.

Shame BST doesn't come into this, though the nights are getting darker, grasping at straws!

It is perfectly permissible under his religion to eat and drink as normal on matchdays and make up those days of fasting outside of Ramadan. Even so, you would expect his energy levels to be lower than usual.

According to Muslim teachings, if your profession depends on eating/drinking during the daylight hours, thus breaking Ramadam, you are totally excused.

I think this will apply to Momo.

I lived in Saudi Arabia for a couple of years when I was a kid, and we legally weren't allowed to eat or drink in the streets during ramadan in case a muslim saw it as a sign of disrepect!

I looked up the dates and it appears he didnt play any games the month before last year but during it he played almost every game bar Palace in the cup. Obviously not a problem so.
I like to lurk, if that's ok with you

Women aren't allowed to drive there either!

And every girl over about 14 isn't allowed to show any skin out in public!

It was a real eye opener living there.

I know about the way they treat women as second class citizens but what would really piss me off is if some jobsworth arrested me for rehydrating myself in the street just because of the ****ing date. Total nonsense.

I think it's actually because otherwise it would just make it so much harder for everyone else to observe Ramadan. I remember seeing some programme with Dom Joly where he went back to Lebanon and Syria where he grew up. It was Ramadan and one day he decided to fast. Only then did he understand how difficult it was to see people swigging a glass of water and eating a shawarma in front of you when you'd had nothing but air pass your lips in ten hours of sweltering heat. He almost ****ted this guy just for having a sip of water

I don't know all the details - i'm just going on details fed to me by a pal. However i don't think this is not allowed.

Seems to back that up, but i'll speak to him again tonight and see his views on this.

Do we not have any Muslims on this forum, or has Fredo scared them all away?!
