"We were looking for a player with game intelligence and good movement who could play alongside Torres," Benitez told the club's official website.Originally posted by Joe Le Toff View PostPleased that we've signed him, he's a good player and ive no doubt he will do well here and be very popular with the fans.
He's not the player to bring us No 19, we're still 3 players short of that, and quite honestly i think Keane is being talked up far too much on all the Liverpool boards ive seen recently. He's a good player but imo not as good as he's being made out. He'll work well with Torres and will give us other options up front, what he wont do is give us width which we desperately need and i would have preferred a couple of wide players rather than this signing.
I wouldnt be in the least bit surprised if he was put out on the right in Kuyts position.
"[Keane] can play with Torres up front and also on the right.
Looks like that's one area he might be looking to play him in. Bit of a concern that. But then I think rafa always buys players that he feels can fulfil at least 2 roles. I hope it's in a more beardsly like role we see him though.
Going to be interesting to see how it affect gerrard and torres pitch positions, would hope all 3 would be very fluid with their movement and interchange positions within a game to create opportunities.

Summary of Keane's interview:
Doesn't regret staying at Wolves as it allowed him to play more games and become more cultured.
Respects Rafa Benitez and thinks he is fantastic
The opportunity to play with Torres is something he is looking forward to. Called him the 'best striker in the world'
He sometimes is a second striker but he still scores goals
Champions League was one of the main reasons of coming to Liverpool.
The age and experience made it the perfect time to go to Liverpool
The number 7 is a privilege. He feels if he can do half a job as Keegan and Dalglish do, he will be happy.
When he scored against Liverpool, he felt weird but thats football.
He might do the cartwheel celebration
Its been a perfect summer after being married. There was only one club he could go to and that was Liverpool.
Thanks the Spurs fans for their support.
Can't wait to wear the Liverpool jersey, wants to create and score goals. He wants to perform 100% for the Liverpool fans.
