Bombard the ****ers early on and they wont know what's hit them.

It will be a tricky evening but i'm sure Rafa's nous in these sort of tricky games will come to the fore and we'll get through. We've more than enough experience and ability to turn them over quite comfortably.

In saying that they're a tidy side and it wouldn't surprise me if it's another nervy European night at Anfield.

are we seriously worrying about a home game in the 3rd round of the european cup??? to some rubbish belgian side?

i honestly dont see the fuss, too much made of the away game, it was our first competitive game of the season for christ sake, they'll be beaten comfortably on wednesday, even if we play rubbish, its just impossible for liverpool not to be in the group stages.

If we play the same CM as saturday and they hustle like they did in the first leg I can see it going down to the wire.

This is just the kind of game to kickstart our season. Over the past couple of years we have needed this kind of must win game to give us focus. We will beat them and kick on from there.

Might as well close the thread. The cat's out of the bag.

Will Mascher be in the frame for this one? If he's in midfield, we close the casket on the belgians...

I have a terrible feeling about the game. Hope we make it through but I'm not expecting a cruise.

Could be a tricky night bearing in mind we are playing **** and they will just go for it. Also surprised Benitez is not going to use Masch.

                          Echo today.

Meanwhile, Javier Mascherano returned to Merseyside yesterday following his gold medal heroics with Argentina and but will not go straight into the Liverpool squad for Wednesday's Champions League qualifier against Standard Liege at Anfield.

That's what worries me. I have no doubt that Rafa would prefer to play Gerrard from the bench in this game however we cannot expect Masher back yet IMO. If we do we are playing a dangerous game considering he has played 6 games in 2 weeks in high humidity. Lucas might be available but he has had a similar work out.

Therefore Alonso is in again with Plessis? If Alonso plays he will be man marked to **** and I am concerned about that. I, for one am very glad Rafa is at the helm because he will come up with something but this game is no forgone outcome at all.

If we play Gerrard and Masher I will have major concerns because they are not fit, IMO.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

A 0-0 away result in the first leg really is a bad result. I would be much happier if itwas 1-1. Ther really is no room for error on Wednesday, to suffer the same fate as Rangers did in the last round would be unthinkable and unbearable
